Default Eq2.ini being ignored?

I recently deleted my eq2.ini file and then some custom UI files so I can log in and play with the recent patch. When I created the eq2.ini file (from backup, just renamed it), whenever I log in it won't load the custom UI.

The only way to load the custom UI is to use /loadui but this is undesireable since it relocates all my windows.

Anyone know what is going on here and how to fix it? I tried deleting eq2_uisettings but it didn't help.

Make sure that you have it enabled so that you can see all file extentions. It could be that you think its "eq2.ini" but could have been saved as "eq2.ini.txt"

Yeah I checked that, and the file is shown with the icon associated with .ini files too, not the other icon used with .txt files opened with Notepad.
