cant go directly to eq2 game through maps

my buddy says u can click on desktop icon to start eq2 game but when it attempts to open the eq2 it says i must open manually. why?

Because you haven't told it where eq2 is?

Give us a bit more information. Like how are your options set? Is the path to eq2 populated? etc..

How should the options be set? Having trouble with the same thing any help is greatly appreciated

The default points to eq2.exe, you need to browse to your everquest2 directory and point it to everquest2.exe. Click on options and you will see the autolaunch EQ2 path.

If you select everquest2.exe you will bypass the patcher, better use eq2.exe
But make sure the path is right.
