Default Resolution

Hello at all,

I'm playing EQ II since it started. My problem, I've bad eyes and I'm not be able to see the small fonts correctly. With my last new Computer I bought also a new monitor in 24". It is possible to play in 1920X1280 and it looks very great. But my problem is the same; I can't see the small fonts in windows like QuestJournal, Personabar and all the windows with some necessary information.

I'm try to change some customers UI's but I don't understand enough english to make the change in my way.

Is someone here to help me ?

Best regards

Bernstein

Before you go and try custom UIs, have you tried using the various font options in-game first? I know under the options somwhere, I believe it's listed under UI, there are a couple choices to change the in-game font to a "smooth" version, and to change to a different font type all-together.

You may want to check those out before you try a custom UI, I know those optional in-game fonts were made specifically for people that were having problems seeing and/or reading the default fonts so it may very well be exactly what you're looking for.

Hello teddyboy420,

thank you for answer !

Sure, I've tried some fond options in the original UI. There is no way to rise up the font size for information in boxes like QuestJournal. On a screen resolution 1024x768 a character sign in font size 10 or 12 looks greater then the same sign on a screen resolution in 1600x1200 or 1920x1280.

So I need the possibilty to change the font size and also the size of the Infoboxes.

This was just asked not too long ago here:

The only easy way to do this is to lower your screen resolution. You can change the font size in your chat window and chat bubbles in the game though.

Anything other than that would require changing some or a lot of xml files. If you don't mind poking around yourself you could try some yourself. Most of the text in the game is in the font /TextStyles.Normal.NormalStyle so you could try bumping that up by a point or two. It may break something or cause things to overlap in strange ways though. You can find most of the text styles in the file eq2ui_textstyles.xml and /TextStyles.Normal.NormalStyle is on line 61.

You could try the following mod to see if it helps any. Some have reported it as being easy on the eyes due to a cleaner overall look. It appears to be a bit larger than the default fonts but probably not by much since that would require manually re-sizing each window via editing each xml file. A large project to say the least.

At any rate, give it a shot and let us know if it helped any.
