Default Is there a way to edit emote sound files?

Hello, I was wondering if there was a way to change the .wav associated with vocal emotes. If not I was wondering if there was a way to attach a .wav file to a macro like a command /play_sound eq2/ui/sounds/sound.wav

I'm really not sure if the emotes are replacable.

It's sorta possible to make a macro to play a sound, but it has to be one of the existing game sounds (like the level ding) which are replacable. But even in that case, I think it's more work than it's worth.

Exactly what are you trying to do? Perhaps we can come up with an easier way to accomplish your goal.

I'm not sure if you can replace these with a custom sound and have it work, but you can attach these to a macro. /playsound by itself will give you the list below.

Lol, I wish I had known about that command a while ago... when I need a sound in a UI piece (and I have 2 so far using it), I've always attached it to the showsound tag of an object and then toggle the object visible and invisible... that could have saved me a bunch of work.

Ah well.

I guess I'll ammend my earlier statement to say it's possible and easy to play a sound from a macro, but it still must be a sound that exists in-game

Well, I believe you can put that .wav in a custom_sounds folder using one of the names above (like war_drum.wav for example) and then play it using the /playsound command (/playsound war_drum).

Just so long as you know that you're the only one who'll hear it - no one else in your party, raid, general vicinity.

Not completely sure on how to set up the custom sounds folder as I've never needed one.
