No, that option isn't available on the character select screen in the default UI. It's only available in-game or from the new character creation screen (which Profit doesn't modify).
Correction here, since I just logged in and saw it: the option
is available on the character select screen, but it's in part of the screen that's not controlled by the UI (hence why there weren't any changes to the character select screen). The reason the icons look like they aren't present is that they require graphics elements that're only in the updated graphics files which aren't on the updater yet. See my post with the attached zipfile with the new graphics files for the default color scheme.
