On items you have links to different sites like eq2i and ZAM, is it possible to put links next to the collections in the quest journal as well, i'm a shiny addict, and it would be cool to still be able and swiftly look up what shinies are from where in all them collections.
Sorry for the long rant and keep up the good work.

The quest journal with URL buttons was added to the beta update server this afternoon, feel free to try it out early if you like.

Was wondering, on an overall level, if you would be ... susceptible shall we say, to input on lowering real estate use on some windows etc? i'm weird, i want alot of info but all the snazzy looking big stuff just isn't me.

Examples would be the huge buttons on the merc window, overlaying cure buttons threat/Self->target->implied target, etc.

Stuff like that, wish i where better at the XML part and i would do it myself , but ill stick to networks and servers for now

Im aware it wouldnt be for everyone hence why im asking like this.

Actually I'm headed in the other direction. As resolutions keep getting higher the UI components get relatively smaller. Back when the game was new, the first thing I noticed was how big and clunky everything looked at 1280x1024, but I think the designers were looking ahead just as they did with the graphics engine. We grew into both of them as technology advanced.

A lot of the early custom interface stuff (including Profit, which I also used for years) was focused on downsizing various parts that felt oversized at the time. Now 10 years or so later, all those tiny fonts and windows packed with little widgets at 1900x1200 or even 1680x1050 are just painful to try to use. Our eyes are all 10 years older now too btw. And so I am adding larger alternatives (most about 1.5x size) to DarqUI.

The blank spaces around and between widgets have a purpose. They are not a mistake. If all gamers were 15 year-olds with perfect eyesight and lightning reflexes it would be ok. But to serve a very wide spectrum of gamers I think a good UI design has to go beyond "cram as many widgets as you can into the smallest possible space." But much of the earlier interface work does exactly that.

I understand, though i dont agree 100%. Historically i totally agree, but my 50 year old (yeah for realz) eyes with glasses and all don't really strain yet. I'm totally for a usable UI that isn't crammed, and i really wasn't talking about that more about using the existing real estate more, in my mind, efficiently.

I'm running 1920X1080 and have for years, yet with the amount of information i like when playing it does become a question of realestate and being able to see other things than just my UI, when i get some more playing time over the weekend ill post up a screenie of my UI layout, along with a few examples of what i mean. A picture says more than a 1000 words, or so im told

On the broker, price present (very nice for save time), the max coin value is 9999p, but now the cap coin in the broker is 999999p.

There is a limitation in the technology used to save custom coin values that maxes it out at 9999p, 99g, 99s, 99c. I would need to use multiple "save" buttons to package more than this amount. If players are selling enough items on the broker over 10 Kpp that presets are needed, then I must be playing the game all wrong.

So totally forgot i cant do a screenshot on beta lol.

Ill hook up w you on layout after beta i guess. What im mostly looking for is saving real estate by overlaying buttons on existing elements, and example would be the detriments on the autoattack window, instead of having them at the top by themself, they could be overlayed on the the health/power bar.

Same logic for the self->target->implied window.

Im sure i can find other things, but this would give you an idea of what im looking for at.

Singular Focus Window

Is there a way to have just the singular focus to have it's own window like it had in the Darqui Live version?

Thanks

Sure thing, I'd like to see any ideas you have. A little worried about the detriment icons appearing over the health/power bars since the player can't control when they appear, but I'll play around with that idea. I can see a case where they might occlude the bars at the wrong time. But I definitely get where you're coming from.

There are large versions of the target and implied target windows in the unified beta version, but otherwise the standard windows are designed to match the overall size and layout of the defaults.

The separate Singular Focus window is the Maintained Spell Monitor, which you can configure from the "SpellMon" tab in the utility. On that tab, choose the character you want to set up, then put the spell name into the first slot in the grid. Also make sure the box for "Listen on login" is checked, otherwise the window will be hidden.

I must be losing my mind or something because I can't get Darq Unified to work. I used to run Profit for years but just came back to EQII, and wasn't as big of a fan. Looked around and grabbed this one, and near as I can tell it's set up perfectly... but it doesn't show up in game.

Ran the utility, UI folder is set up, custom file for the Darq files, it's set to default. Load into game, do /loadui, and that custom folder is selected. Try to load it anyways, and it just stays as the default blue UI.

Double check my ini file, that's set properly as well. I had just done a fresh install of EQII so nothing leftover from Profit or what not should be interfering. Even more bizarrely, when I logged on last night the UI seemed to be working fine. Camped out as I was tired, then got on this morning and suddenly we're back to the default UI.

It's really quite baffling, and I do want this to work. Anyone have any idea what might be causing that, despite the folders/files being evidently set up properly?

Thanks, I like it when the singular focus isn't placed in the maintained. Sometimes I forget to unclick it.
