December 3, 2023: DarqUI Utility v3.1.3.5


A new version of the DarqUI Utility is available.

If you are unsure about how to install or upgrade, please look here.


Changes include:
  • Added Zarrakon to internal server cache
  • Added confirmation dialog when Set Up button is clicked in Quick Setup (Ombrette)
  • Added Quick Setup for a single character in context menu (Rosyposy)
  • Spell line suggestions are updated through level 130 for EN DE FR languages
  • Spell level suffixes up to 20 (XX) are recognized. Spell lines are now contiguous through the entire line instead of the highest levels being detached from the rest
  • Gear Buff tile size can be increased up to 84px
  • AA and regular spells will no longer return an incomplete list in Icon Bar lookups due to too many results returned (Maris)
  • Added a Guild Buff shortcut to Icon Bar lookups (Maris)
  • Icon Bar can now look up potions, elixirs, temp adornments, etc.
  • Composite icons (e.g. Renewal of Ro: Domination) are now shown with correct foreground and background images (Maris)
  • Added ability to download files to absolute locations in \gameroot
  • Added Overseer Bag to Bag profile viewer
  • Added Overseer Bag to Inventory and inventory reports
  • Inventory: added "Alphabetize by slot" to Wardrobe grid (Unseelee)
  • Added event slot (plume) to Inventory
  • Corrected profile viewer for Windows UI scaling greater than 100% (Michael D. Raney)
  • Many census lookups can now be done with a partial search string, not just the first part. ("Di'Zok" will find Di'Zok Minion's Elixir of Thorns as well as Fury of the Di'Zok)
  • If you have skipped a file, resizing the entire UI with "All Large" or "All X-Large" won't un-skip it
  • When new files are presented for download, they will be offered in your preferred UI size based on other file sizes (Alils)
  • Group and Raid spell lookups handle Ascension spells more gracefully (Jadabo)
  • Changed three-dot Edit buttons to more appropriate glyphs throughout the utility
  • Tooltips are easier to read
  • You no longer need to be online to rebuild your Account Camp list
  • In Beta Tools you can now rename characters to their Beta-amended names (Darqxxx for example)
  • In Beta Tools you can now rename uisettings files to their Beta-amended names (Darqxxx for example)
  • Beta Tools now gives a helpful message if you are configuring for Beta while the game is running

September 18, 2023: ACT Statter

The DarqUI Stat Monitor has been fitted with controls to integrate the Statter plugin for Advanced Combat Tracker (ACT) authored by Reapp of Skyfire. Now you can easily track and parse selected stats and their overcaps in the same way as DPS and HPS are tracked using ACT.

April 1, 2023: DarqUI v3.1.3.4


A new version of the DarqUI Unified Utility is available.

If you are unsure about how to install or upgrade DarqUI, look here.

Utility version 3.1.3.4 offers the following improvements:
  • A Blank Map Fix has been added to the EQ2MAP page. The utility will list which of your characters are affected and will correct their uisettings files (Kammelle, Alils)
  • Added a High Contrast utility color theme (Roger Martensson). If Dark Mode doesn't seem quite dark enough, this should do it.
  • Onboarding utility tutorial popups are no longer rendered illegibly in Dark, Game, and High Contrast display modes (Roger Martensson)
  • The Help folder was not being downloaded for new installations in some instances. This is now corrected
  • When importing/exporting/duplicating Group and Raid settings, a dialog has been added to decide how to treat class-specific spell buttons
  • A more robust set of network methods reduces retries when listing and retrieving file updates
  • Additional logic for locating the game folder in more out-of-the-way places on initial setup (Klawsalot)
  • You can now export results from Broker Log queries to a CSV file (Preach)
  • The Chat profile editor now imports voice channels along with text chat channels (chief). Voice channel passwords are now properly saved and imported

DarqUI Unified Notifications v1.2.0.8 is included in the download on this page. No changes were made.

September 19, 2022: DarqUI v3.1.3.3


A new version of the DarqUI Unified Utility is available.

Utility v3.1.3.3 is a maintenance update which primarily enables some features and changes for Darq Side patrons. Bug fixes and improvements for all players are listed below. If you are not a patron and are not interested in any of these items, you do not need to download this version.
  • Account Camp character lists no longer erroneously include characters that were hidden in the Quick Setup grid
  • Housing layouts generated with JesDyr's Layout Editor will not crash Inventory (Rosyposy)
  • When offline or census is down, Inventory shows placeholder icons for equipped gear and non-empty bags instead of blanks (chief)
  • Characters on decommissioned servers are no longer listed in Quick Setup
  • Inventory parser now handles items with square brackets in the name correctly
  • An option to automatically download DarqUI updates is on the Settings page (utaeladil)

July 27, 2022: DarqUI v3.1.3.2


A new version of the DarqUI Unified Utility is available.

Utility v3.1.3.2 is a 64-bit application that targets Microsoft.NET 4.8. It's almost certain that you will already have v4.8 on your PC, but if you get an error related to .NET you can download it from this official Microsoft article.


Some v3.1.3.2 highlights are shown below; a more complete list can be found here.
  • Inventory: Search all characters at once for a specific item or search terms
  • Chat Logs: Show search results in context with preceding and subsequent log lines
  • Chat Window: Use the utility to move a chat channel to another tab with no effort
  • Browser: Standard and "lite" browsers have been combined into one full-featured window
  • Examine: Reset Examine windows back to their defaults
  • Utility configuration pages were updated with controls for recently-added features

April 28, 2022: DarqUI Unified Utility v3.1.3.1


A new version of DarqUI is available. Version 3.1.3.1 offers the following changes. Note that this upgrade is not required. You can continue using v3.1.3.0 to receive file updates and configure your UI, but new and revised features shown below will require the new utility.

  • You can now choose to import chat tabs, chat channels, or both between characters in the profile editor (Aidbringer)
  • Restore specific components from a restore point instead of the entire backup
  • Compile a combined summary of all Broker sales on the Broker Logs page (lhaffinatu)
  • Unused "include" line in eq2ui_custom.xml is removed if player deletes a custom file via the Updates page
  • File deletion candidates no longer require a DarqUI version number
  • Made several adjustments to file handling to be more compatible with Linux systems (LadyGrelka, vins1977)
  • Added Kael Drakkel to internal server list
  • FSW controls can now distinguish between EverQuest2.exe game client and the new browser instances in process list
  • Added controls to several configuration pages to match recent Window Manager changes

Spell Suggestions
  • Spell Suggestions for Group and Raid windows have been updated through Level 125 for English, French and German. Note that FR and DE spell names are no longer required for casting, but players can use suggestions in their preferred language to reference Group and Raid spell buttons with more familiar names in-game. Improvements to DarqUI are happening all year long, not just at expansion release. I encourage you to visit the DarqUI Portal Page and check out the many feature updates and tutorials that you may not have been aware of.

DarqUI Unified combines the best of DarqUI, DarqUI Live and EQ2Inventory into one, with some useful new features. Standard DarqUI users can now choose to make quick, permanent configuration changes right from the game screen while playing, as an alternative to loading up the external window utility. There is no longer a limit to the number of characters that can be customized, and many of the settings that were previously shared by all of your characters can now be configured for each character separately.

DarqUI Live users can take advantage of an all-new configuration app with features like Quick Setup, backup and restore, character and spell file maintenance, and a new lookup feature that queries Daybreak servers for spell lines and icons to use for your spell buttons. The DarqUI Unified configuration app has been rewritten from the ground up to provide all of the conveniences from the DarqUI Window Utility and the Live Updater. You will find many usability improvements and an uncluttered design that matches the familiar in-game window manager.

Large size windows DarqUI Unified offers larger-size versions of many windows to accommodate higher resolution monitors. Choose the size you prefer from the Updates page of the utility. These include Active Journal (quest helper), Casting Bar, Chat, Dissonance, Examine, Experience Bar, Group, Implied Target, Maintained Spell Monitor, Maintained Spells, Mercenary, NPC Spell Monitor, Pet, Player, Raid, Savagery, Target, Threat and Tracking. DarqUI windows that were already usable with higher resolutions include Detrimental Effects, Gear Buff Macros, Hotbars, Icon Bar and Spell Effects.

EQ2Inventory Track and search equipment, bags, bank, shared bank, house vault, Wardrobe contents, mount and Familiar collections and up to 9 houses, guild hall and player-made dungeons per character from the DarqUI Unified interface.

Broker Logs Display a summary of interesting broker sales metrics for each character: total receipts, most popular item, biggest spender and more. Use the sales grid to calculate additional data such as average price paid for an item. Parse results for today, current week, past 12 months, etc.

Chat Log Parser features keyword, category and date/time searches that recognize English, German and French log files. Use the preset category filters or build your own using regular expressions.

EQ2MAP integration Install and update the official EQ2MAP alongside DarqUI with a single click.

Help system Help files are now available for all DarqUI Unified windows and utility functions. Context-sensitive help information can be accessed externally from the window utility or from the window manager in-game. Use the new, more robust "Make default" feature on the Files page of the utility to set DarqUI as your default. This will prevent needing to use /loadui from the game window which crashes the awesomium browser.

Spell Suggestions There is a new French spell suggestion file in addition to German and English.

DarqUI Unified Notifications is a Windows tray icon that checks periodically for DarqUI and EQ2MAP updates. More information for setting up and using DarqUI_Notify can be found here. The notifier also includes a URL Helper that opens website requests in your default Windows browser instead of the in-game browser. The app is optional, and is included in the download on this page.

Re: UI Version 2.0

Anyone know why my chat window doesn't work? Cannot hit enter, cannot type slash. Messed with all of the Window Settings (frame/title/opacity) -- no dice. Enter key works fine in Default UI, but not Darq. Was working fine for the first week or so then yesterday mid-session, enter stops working.

Problem

A number of times a day, my game just shuts down with no error message, crash report, mini dump etc. The only thing I've noticed is that many times the browser is open when the game shuts down. I have no idea if this is an eq2 problem, or a ui problem. Figured I'd post it here as well as on the eq2 forums.

Thanks for a great UI, and for keeping it up to date.

Those are custom DarqUI components. To turn them off, click the blue gem in the upper left-hand corner of each window and change the setting in the window manager. If you want to know what they do, click the [?] at the top of the window manager.

I've never installed darquiv3_shutdown.xml and it's not in the UI folder now.

I have a basis of ProfitCE,with a lot of DarqUI parts. I use the Tradeskill window, Gear Buff bar, Harvesting, the Stat Monitor, the Pricing tool, and I'm not sure what all else at the moment.

While logged out, in the \EverQuest II\UI\DarqUI_v3\POI folder, find and move darquiv3_shutdown.xml onto the Desktop, or some other place. Reopen the utility. If you don't get the error, you'll want to go to the Shutdown (Camp) setup page for any character and rebuild the account list (right-hand side). If you do get the error, put the file back and post again, and we'll try the next step.

Re: Odd problem!

It's finding a blank, or no account number at all, in the \EverQuest II\logincache folder. Try logging in to Character Select once on each of your accounts, which will rebuild the files in that folder. Then reopen the utility -- better?

I downloaded darqui_3133.zip

I unzipped it in my usual location, C:\Daybreak Game Company\Installed Games\EverQuest II\UI\DarqUI_v3

When I try to start the utility, I get an error:

I'm trying to switch to Darqui from Profitui but am having a few issues.

Hide group window when solo, is not working. When I log in it shows the window again. I go to settings and it is checked not to show. Also Player extended window hides when not in combat . Even though I do not have it checked to do so. I can manually fix these and they stay then until I log out/in again.

Also the Tithe alert option will not save. I put the counter down to 0 and save and uncheck Flash Tithe alerts and save that. Then log out and back in and they are reset , counter is back on 9 and Flash is checked.

I also have a question about the experience bar. When /loading_uisettings to another character. The settings for xp bar do not carry over. Is there a way to copy this to another character or do you have to manually set it up on each character?

This was all done on test server as I wanted to test the UI before replacing profitui on live.
