Also I want to point out when I click to cure in the trauma window, it won't let me type basically...and I have to click outside of the window or whatnot in order to be able type again...

for example, I use my number keys to cast spells, when i click to cure, locks the keyboard until I click a different window or a spell

EDIT: Ok, a little more info on the threat window regarding that problem

ok when I click to cure, it locks the focus window and starts typing in the area where you put what channel you want to announce to...

hope that helps!

Hi Carthington, thank you for the comments.

The hotbar window linked below should do what you want. Everything is the same as the DarqUI hotbar except the frames are tucked in under the icons. This version makes more sense after SOE made it easier to move hotbars around with F10, although players get very flipped out when you mess with their hotbars so the current version is staying on the patcher. Replace your hotbar file with this, then re-stretch the frame of each of your hotbars to make the border snap under the icons:

darqui-hotkey-noborder.zip

The NPC Spellcast Monitor is built on the Tagging window, so (Ctrl+Shift+T) should show the monitor, or you can right-click your Target window and choose Tag from the pop-up context menu. Stretch the window vertically to show the spell listener area. Unfortunately, the Tagging window won't stay visible between sessions, so you have to re-open it every time you log in with a different character.

The threat window does have a lot going on, but that's by design. You can turn off the spellcast bar and target's target health display to simplify it a bit. I have recently re-coded this window (in testing now) to use the new cureplayer commands for self-cures, and it can be stretched out a bit wider than the current version. Also the issue you are having with the cursor should go away with the new version.

Awesome, thank you very much I'll definitely check it out!!!

I think we're talking about 2 different things. I was using /show_window MainHUD.Casting to try and bring up the casting bar to change the color but it won't show so I had to go into the xml and change it manually there.

The spellcast monitor works fabulous though, so far except I have to reopen the window entirely every time I log into the game even with the same toon...

Awesome stuff! Do you also have any plans on creating different looks to the threat window? Like the ability to rearrange the bars or position the buttons, etc, like you do with the group and raid window?

And I also have a question about announcing detriments and curses as well... are you able to program the ability to callout the actual spells instead of just saying Carthington NOXIOUS, Carthington TRAUMA, etc?[

Currently the only way to change the color of the casting bar is by editing the file directly like you did, although the upcoming window utility has new controls for several customizable DarqUI windows including this one. The new utility also addresses the issue of the spell monitor always opening to the default size.

A recent re-write of the threat window has reduced the complexity of the window considerably, so I would feel better about putting in some more options for layout customization. I'm trying to get the new utility and some other updates out the door, so I can't necessarily work on it immediately, but I will definitely take another look at it soon.

If you want to announce specific spells as they are being cast, use the Spell Monitor for that. The detriment announcements (threat window) only react to what has already been cast on you. Generally if you will stack the two together, you can give your raid a pretty good idea of what's hitting you.

Beastlord resizable Bar // NPC Spellcast Monitor

Can someone please upload the Beastlord resizable hot bar // NPC spell cast Monitor. That would be appreciated thanks.

I just want to add those 2 things to my current UI compilation. If not I understand I'll download the full install and go from there.

LittleMagica, yes you can do this. Go to the Raid or Group tab in the utility, then choose the cure tab you want the chat output for -- Priest, Mage, Conjuror, Paladin or None. There is a Raid Chat slot for each cure. Click twice on the slot and type your text.

The Raid Chat option will put the target's name at the end of the raid text, for example

if you type: Curing Curse on
the raid will see: Curing Curse on Baldaor

Hi Ixoa, you make a good point -- I moved the paragraph about upgrading closer to the top. It had gotten a bit lost under all the screenshots.

Wow

First of all, excellent UI. This has everything that I've been looking for, while sticking very close to the original UI in terms of feel. You've really outdone yourself with all the bells and whistles in this one.

Couple of questions and some feedback, though

Is it possible for me to set up the options (switching characters when camping, setting xp bar options, etc.) for more than 8 characters? I currently have 11 on 1 account and 3 on another (understand that switching to the 2nd account won't happen, though). I tried editing the individual files, doing a copy/paste job and changing the character names and numbers to 9, 10, etc., but that didn't work.

Also, would it be possible at some point to have the option to move the percentage on the target window (e.g., from the center of the bar, to off the bar but to the right side of it?)

On the guild page of the experience bar (the one with GSP, members, accounts, etc.) it would also be awesome to have guild xp % if that would be possible?

Lastly, I can't seem to get the tradeskill window to open to double-pane by default, but I did check that option. I might be doing something wrong?

Big thanks for this UI! It's wonderful as is, but these were just a few ideas off the top of my head.

Re: Wow

Hi Cearra, thank you for these comments! Unfortunately as you found out, you can't just add more pages to the data area to get more alts. I wish it were that easy. Most of the character-based customizations have to be hard-coded for that specific number of alts throughout the code.

But there is a way to use DarqUI for all 14 of your characters. It takes just a little bit of extra setup. Create two parallel custom UI folders, call them DarqUI1 and DarqUI2. Drop a copy of the utility into each folder, and use them to set up your characters in two separate sets. If you two-box with your accounts, make sure the character pairs that log in together get into the same UI with each other. If you don't two box, then decide on a way to split up the 14 characters that makes sense to you. On the Settings tab of one of the utilities, make "DarqUI" your default UI.

Then before you start the game, decide which character(s) you want to log in with. Rename the folder by taking out the number -- DarqUI1 would be renamed to DarqUI, for example. Then start the game and the correct character info will load. When you need to make changes with the utility, make sure both folders have their original DarqUI1 and DarqUI2 names. At first glance it sounds a bit tricky but it's very quick. If you're technically inclined, you could write a couple of batch scripts to do the folder renaming for you.

As far as your other suggestions, I'll definitely take a look at them. I already have a couple of ideas about your guild XP suggestion. The tradeskill window is working okay for me, make sure you uncheck the setting if you want a side-by-side layout -- that's actually the default and single-pane is the option.

Thanks so much!

I did the dual folder thing, which is even easier with a batch script (thanks!), and it works just fine. The only thing I lack is the ability to switch to all 11 when camping, as I have a max selection of 8 on that window, which is not a big deal.

Having said that, is there a chance that this feature may be expanded to accommodate more alts in the future? I understand that this would probably be extremely time-consuming on your part, so I'm not married to the idea, but it's definitely a "nice to have" wish for one day in the future, should you have the desire and availability.

Uncheck the box -- doh! I had it checked.

Thanks so much for taking the other ideas into consideration!

BTW, that XP bar is just the coolest thing. After using a couple of different UIs, I searched high and low for a solution that looks clean, provides useful info, and keeps the bar down where I'm used to looking at it. You nailed it. That thing is really sleek, and I mean in terms of looks AND functionality. It's exactly what I wanted. And the config utility just plain rocks (totally outdid yourself here). Not to mention everything else, but in the interest of keeping this brief, I'll just say that both myself and hubby are kinda ecstatic about the UI.

Love this UI

Nice job, just wanted to say thanks for building this. I have played since launch and have always used individual pieces to create my own UI but when I saw this I decided to try it out and should have done it much sooner. I do have one request though. I would like to have a coin window visible at all times. I had hoped it would be an option on your experience bar or even better, as an individual window. Milquetowst had one way back when but he left the game and that window never got updated. Thanks again for a great UI.
