I too am having the same problem...I direct it to the correct file C:\program files (x86)\Sony\Everquest II but it isn't finding the file. And I am also getting all the Java error messages too like you

For those of you having trouble, make certain you are entering the path as \Program Files (x86)\Sony\Everquest II.

Do Not go to the EQ2 folder after you have chosen Everquest II. The EQ2 executable is in the \Sony\Everquest II folder.

If you try to send it to the \Everquest II\EQ2 folder, it will not work because it will not find EQ2.exe there.

Incidentally:

the updater still doesn't work on W7. Checked everything. Going to uninstall Profit UI now.

Gnarfel, I have the same problem, but java open me more one interface. Make sur if they are only one Profit reborn updater open ( close and wait for see if that don't re-open automatically)

Gnarfel, j'ai eu le meme soucis, java m'ouvrais plusieurs logiciel de mise a jour en meme temps. Assures toi qu'il n'y est pas d'autre profit ui reborn d'ouvert en arriere plan. C'est quand j'ai fini par tout fermer qu'un autre a réouvert pour moi.

Also using W7, and today cannot run updater. Get the same Java error as below, with a notice to set the path in the settings menu. When we try, it will not accept the path, leaving the line blank. We have tried to run as admin and Xp comp mode.

Any suggestions?

So I'm having several issues.

Like the guy below me, I was having the issue where it told me that it could not find my Everquest2.exe. But the other problem I was having was that the java client kept turning all black and then for some reason my video card would crash. I have an ATI Radeon HD 5870. There is no way that it can't handle a Javascript screen, so something was really wrong with that one.

Also, the title-banner (frame thing) above the quest text on the upper right hand corner was missing. The quest text is there, but the frame for whatever reason is missing.

And as a side note, is it possible to remove the frame on the mini map, because I don't often have my mini map floating in the middle of nowhere and its annoying having the frame glaring at me.

Anyhow, thanks so much for keeping ProfitUI up-to-date. I love this UI and I hope it continues to be updated!

All of a sudden, ProfitUI Updter seems not to be able to find my Everquest2.exe file anymore. I can choose the directory but there is no way it finds the .exe file and I keep getting a screenload of Java errors. I am using W7 64, incidentally. I wonder if it is a bug or my problem. Thanks.

Been having issues with the updater sitting there not updating, will continue to say Checking for updates when the exit option lights up without anything changing. Ran it during beta and when i tried to install it showed i had no files copied and it showed what files needed to be placed, clicked to start that and 5 seconds later all the files vanished from list, but still showed a count of 0 of 500 files installed with the exit button lit. I've uninstalled it now i don't know how many times and each time it does exactly the same.

Ive noticed that on the Paladin group window hot keys, It only does Intercept 2. (there is a 3rd one)

Is this just me?

Right-click on the ProfitUI short-cut, choose "Run as Administrator".
You will be prompted something like, "do you wish to allow java to make changes to your computer files (or something like that)?"

Choose yes, then it will run and update your files.

For the issue with the start button not showing up I was able to fix this by opening the uisettings folder for each character it affected. For me it was...

1. Go to your EQ2 folder and Open unrest_<character_name>_uisettings.xml in notepad. Note replace <character_name> with your actual affected toons name.

2. Browse to the line that shows...

<Window Name="StartButton" alignment="4" alignment_offset="-12,-80" backdrop_mo_o="0" backdrop_n_o="0" frame_mo_o="0" frame_n_o="0" size="57,57" window_style="0" />

and delete it.

3. Click Save Note you may have to change the permissions of this file to full control in order to save.

4. repeat for each affected toons file and then open the game and enjoy.

I am unable to install ProfitUI, says no write permissions and to launch as an administrator. I am running as an administrator already but I cannot find the option to launch your jnlp as an administrator. ANy help please?
