For me the updater always crashes. Last status is "\DeaDBeaTs\eq2map Copying files".

Then the debugger pops up:

"Unhandled exeption has occured in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately"

Unable to fine the specified file...

I hope this helps:

"************** Exception Text **************
System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Unable to find the specified file.
at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath)
at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError()

I manually adjusted the eq2.ini, this part was never done by the installer/updater before it crashes.

If I continue with the update, just nothing happens anymore. however there seems to be the complete folder, about 52 mb. Same size as the backup folder. Ingame it looks like it's working, needed to adjust a lot of windows... I guess that's missing?

The stuff that works look great, I really like this mod

Then a clean install, let me know if you still get an error.

did you change something, or did I something wrong?

Honestly for the error you were getting there are many possibilities so its easier to do a full reinstall. And no it was nothing you did wrong.

RAID window

This interface is awesome and I have almost everyone in our guild using it, but yesterday we had issues building a raid. Our guild leader just installed the UI and this was the first raid he tried to get together since the install. He could no longer drap and drop players in the raid window. Has anyone else had issues dragging and dropping as the raid leader?

This is not a mod issue but an SOE issue. I've had this problem myself.

That being said there are a couple things to try;
- drag and drop group member onto the power/health area instead of the name area
- if he can't drag and drop anyone, swap a group member with another group then try again

That error typically means a connection error or that I simply forgot to upload a file to my server. As you discovered it's not a deal breaker, but thanks for letting me know.

Can't install clean

I get the same error as user Dlsi. I have removed the *\Everquest 2\DBsMods and \UI\DeaDBeaTs folders. There was no DeaDBeaTs.backup file. Here is the complete error:

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Any help is appreciated.

For whatever reason the admins haven't updated the most recent version of my updater. Here's a link to the latest, try it and let me know if you still have problems.

Re: Re: Can't install clean

Still doesn't work. Same error. However I have tried to catch the file that it dies one and it's something like steppes_epic_01_cove.xml and dies

The /UI/DeaDBeaTs folder is 58.3mb, 1,412 files and 42 folders if that helps any.

Typically if it can't download a file you can click ok to clear the error and it will continue.

I think you have something else happening tho, size of the DeaDBeaTs folder should be 54.9mb containing 1,416 files in 24 folders.

Even if you've done this before lets walk thru it step by step:

Uninstall from Control Panel-Add/Remove Programs - DB's EQ2 Mod
Delete */Everquest 2/DBsMod
Delete *Everquest 2/UI/DeaDBeaTs and */DeaDbeaTs.backup
Reinstall from the link I gave you and run the updater choosing full install. Make sure the updater has the correct path to your Everquest 2 install folder, it looks for EQ2.exe

If you still get an error please copy/paste it here. We can fix this

Remember do not install EQ2maps, my mod includes it already and the installation will break things.

Still no luck...

I even did a clean install of EQ2 just to make sure there was nothing conflicting.

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit with SP1.
The file size for /UI/ is 54.8mb (57,563,678 bytes), contains 1,412 files, 24 folders (I typoed the last time when I put in 42). I am guessing that I am getting this error because for some reason I am not downloading the final 4 files and when the installer is moving files from Everquest 2\DeaDBeaTs to /UI/DeaDBeaTs it's throwing an error, just like if you don't have an eq2.ini file in your Everquest 2 directory. It doesn't know what to do so it pukes.

One option we could try is if you can zip up the UI/DeaDBeaTs directory I can apply it and whatever file adjustments I need to make to get it to work. If you want to go that route you can e-mail that info to me at [email protected]. Though I am guessing just like I would to fix the error instead of bandaid the problem =)

Same error, clicking continue just makes it hang.

"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.

Zipped its still to big to mail but here's a link http://www.oldfogieshome.com/files/E.../DeaDBeaTs.zip

Couple questions, can you manually copy the DBsMod\DeaDBeaTs folder into the UI\ folder without error?
Does EQ2.ini exist in DBsMod folder? and is it copied correctly into Everquest 2? if not can you copy it manually without error?

Its beginning to sound more like a file permission issue now.

Thanks. I can manually move the /everquest 2/DBsMod/DeaDBeaTs file to /UI/DeaDBeaTs no problem without error. Same with the eq2.ini file.

I deleted teh DeaDBeaTs folder under Everquest2/DBsMod and /UI and replaced them with the DeaDBeaTs folder from the zip file.

Now to just get the UI to load. when I do a loadui from the chat screen it only shows the Default.
