skinning??

Hi, great ui mod, been trying out a bunch of different ones and really like yours a lot. Was wondering though, is there any chance you may know off the top of your head what I'm doing wrong when I edit your UI folder with a skin? I'm guessing the skin files are copying over one or two too many of your files. The problem seems to be isolated to the buttons only (like the buttons in the window settings boxs) everything else looks as it should (so far at least). I will keep trying to figure it out, but thought it couldn't hurt to mention it.

Thanks.

EDIT: ahh, ok took a few tries, but I'm pretty sure I figured it out. I had to reload your UI, and then add in the skin again but leaving off some of the skin files. The good news is, I have buttons again. Thanks.

No worries, simple fix. I just recreated the ~/Infocenter/includes.xml.

And yes it's a bit of a pain that's why it's a copy of the one in Profit with my twists on it

InfoCenter Notes

I hate to be a pain and I did try fixing it, but it is over my head. When I modify the text files for notes in the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony\EverQuest II\UI\DeaDBeaTs\InfoCenter\Notes" folder the changes do not show up.
I opened the UI with UI builder and under Custom -> InfoCenter -> Includes -> Notes -> Text Object 2 -> Text and added the word test. This then showed up in game.

I am a super noob with the UI builder and xml in general. I can read it and follow the logic but that is about it. It looks like the only way to change that text is in the UI builder currently.

I read awhile back about the time it was taking to keep the info center up to date and was wondering if you removed that functionality altogether. If it is too much of a pain I can live without it. Thanks again for the great UI.

Re: Re: Launcher on Vista-64

That worked. Thanks for the response. Here is why it could not find it.

Under Vista-64 the registry entry for Everquest2.exe is
Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\EverQuest2.exe]
@="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Sony\\EverQuest II\\EverQuest2.exe"
"Path"="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Sony\\EverQuest II"
Looks like it is runnning in the Windows on Windows subsystem since it is a 32-bit app.

Thank you again for creating this interface and maintaining it. I know it has to take alot of time and effort.

It only prompts for location when it can't find the install path in the registry.

To manually add the entry copy and paste below, make sure to change the install path to match yours. Then save it as eq2path.reg and double click to enter it into your registry.

Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\Everquest2.exe]
@="c:\\program files\\sony\\everquest II"
"Path"="C:\\Program Files\\Sony\\\\Everquest II"

It's a checkbox in your Persona window on the Options tab.
