The default Goldi UI crashes every time.

I renamed the Goldi directory to Fetish (per one of the READMEs I found) and it seemed to work until I hit the EQ2 button. Then I was on the crash-express back to the desktop.

I really like what I've seen of your work. Anyone else experiencing similar problems?

Hi Jonos

Check this:

1) make sure the UI folder is named Goldi, and that you have some sub-folders inside it. Some common mistake is to unzip the Goldi folder inside another Goldi folder.

2) Make sure in the main folder of the game, you have a text file named:

eq2.ini

And the contents:

cl_ui_skinname Goldi
cl_ui_subdir UI/

3) Also, you do need to run the EQ2MAP_Updater.exe at least once (but i do advise you to use it at least once a day

If you dont use it at least once you have installed my UI, you WILL crash

The exe file is in:

Goldi\#EQ2MapUpdater

If you receive a error message while trying to run that prog, you will need to download and install:

Sorry for the delay in posting a response. You know now RL is sometimes. I just saw that one of the posting rules is not to ask for help. Shame on me for not seeing that earlier. I really appreciate you stepping up to try and help.

I had already tried using those exact steps in my previous attemps to implement the UI. It's okay to if we can't make it work or if we need to persue this outside of these forums.

How would you like to proceed?

hey I am having problems with my quest journal after LU 10, I cant open it by clicking the mouse on it anymore, and I get a msg saying that this UI is not combatable with blah blah blah.... anyway just wanted you to know

I installed the UI you posted and love it but for some reason it gets all glitchy and then either crashes or freezes my computer and I was wondering if this has happened before or if you what might be causing this. I can play for about 30 minutes before the glitching starts and I have installed other UIs before and never had a problem like this one. Please respond as I really like this UI and want to continue using it.

I like everything but the hot key bar where are the atack buttons are. The buttons are a little bit to small. If you could could you plz tell me the name of the original files for the hotkey bar so i can replace them, thx

Sebcrab, check the Options sub-folder, there is another folder named Hotkey.

There you can find different sizes of hotkeys, there is one that is the original size

The skills window is not working correctly for me. The tabs for tradeskill etc, are not showing up!

Did you test it in a new char?

A new char will only show the tradeskills tab when you start the quest at the tower on the Isle of Refuge

Anyway, i will double check it tonight

I had the same issue...

Initially I misread Goldi's note about deleting the eq2ui_mainhud_skills.xml file (she said to delete the one from HER UI, not the default UI). I deleted the one I already had then I intended to let the new install write in the new file. Only, the new install didn't write in a _skills.xml file (don't know why, Goldi, but it didn't). So when I logged in the skills tab was fuxx0red. I DLed the new Fetish Classic and took the _skills.xml file from there and it works now.

Go figure...
