Hi, I have been having troubles with my map updater, i click on icon to start it but nothing happens. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it several times and still nothing. I also tried deleting .net framework and reinstalling it to only 2.0 and still nothing. could someone please help me fix it, was working great until last update, oh and i have deleated the file they thought was corrupting it as well and it still doesnt work... its very frustrating to play eq2 without the map...I miss it terribly, Please Help....Thanks Dezirah p.s its not my firewall either they are all turned off.

I am not getting any of the new quest from the new zones. I tried updating and it says that my map is out of date and to look for new download. I don't see that it has been updated on this site. Is there going to be an update, or is the map not useful anymore?

Problem:
Quests are not flashing on the map (for new quests or completed)

Solution:
you can try to delete all skinnable files in your Everquest2/UI/*CUSTOM*/eq2map2 folder and then rerun the updater.


I had this issue as well. I did the proposed solution above and have verified it does in fact solve the issue.

The flashing of completed quests and such is sooooo nice to have.

I got a new pc with vista on it. I can not get the maps to go from updater to game .... HELP PLEASE

Ok all, found the fix, to those that have issues. I didn't notice a link to a similar issue down lower on this exact page until after I posted. When you open up EQ2 Map Updater window and start to download the files, UNCHECK autolaunch EQ2, and click on options. At the bottom of the window that pops up, you'll see the button to redownload ALL files. Click it. After it redownloads, reload EQ2, and boom, all fixed. Sorry for not seeing this information earlier and saving the post space.

Hey all, having an issue with my maps.

Whenever I have new quests available, there is no flashing feather/book/etc on my map. I've gone into options, tried shutting everything down, bringing them back up, but nothing works. Do I need to reinstall the files before my map will work right? Thanks!

As the old version work it has to be a firewall issue.
No need to edit any eq2.ini file.

The new updater will not connect to the server for updates..

1.1.1 still works but of course i get no updates even though it connect to the server. i have installed the 1.20.4 version 10 times with and without a eq2.ini file.. The new version just will not connect to the server.

Please advise any way to correct this to [email protected]

Something that everybody seems to forget is that you just need to look back at history and you will so that it has all been done before. Look at EverQuest, it is still going strong with the same game play from the past. Does anybody think that it really matters.

Is there any chance of adding an option to not download the POI's? I would like to still get the new maps but not have to delete the POI's or redownload them everytime I check for an update.

i lost my map in game it like a windoe to see throu and now i can not get update or connec to your update server
and 2 of my game windoe are black out after trying redownload eq2 maps

Well I've given up on this, it has potential, and I'll stop by sometime in the future to see if the bugs have been worked out. As it is, this is really not very reliable. From all of the POIs just disappearing to the entire maps going blank...stick with the in game map unless you like to relog a lot.
