Question Is the /loadui Still Inoperable for Mods?

I've noticed that most of the posts about the problem using the /loadui command to install new mods are a year or more old. In fact, the sticky of instructions for installing mods was posted seven years ago. If the /loadui command still corrupts the UI when installing a mod, it would be very helpful if someone could update the sticky, saying that the problem still exists as of Feb. 2011.

In any case, I want to install the AutoAttack mod so that I know how to time my newbie monk's CAs. I'd prefer to use /loadui to do that if it now works (doesn't corrupt my UI). I am new to EQ2 (downloaded it two days ago and have preordered the Velious expansion), so I haven't modified anything yet. I plan not to modify anything until after I have installed the Velious expansion. I welcome any advice. Thanks!

I believe it is supposed to work properly now, but I still prefer to log out and change EQ2.ini directly -- too many years of it being a terribly buggy command.

With that said, it does not (to my knowledge) corrupt your UI in any way. However if you want to be safe it's just as easy to add the lines in your eq2.ini.

I use the /loadui command if i need to switch a UI or to reload the UI's XML files.

If i remember right, it doesn't save your new choice of the UI (if you choose a new UI) to the eq2.ini file, and if your reloading graphic files for a UI you need to at-least log to character select.

Just my experiences.

Thanks,
Draven

Several game data objects will bug out but for the most part it is functional.

To elaborate on drum's reply. It bugs the tradeskill window and often the map/current location display. I have not found anythhing that cannot be fixed by zoning.

It is also my understanding that if you have no eq2.ini file the /loadui settings will persist between loads.
