I know this question may have been ask but I'm getting the error above. I've tried everything please help

I have tried countless times to load profit reborn on my new laptop which has vista. for some reason it isnt taking. doesn anyone have any ideas or is it not compatible. and if not when is there going to be a compatible version out and when

The updater doesn't want to update eq2ui_mainhud_raid.xml for me - it doesn't show in the ignored list, I've removed it from the profitui folder and still the (new, java) updater doesn't see it as needing updating, I went to variants and explicitly selected the default version of the raid window, update still not seeing a need for it, even after restarting updater. Not sure if it's just somehow hidden ignored but not showing on the ignore list, or if it's just not in the list of files to check, since the ignore list no longer shows the full list including unignored files.

Im getting a warning message saying: Everquest2.exe not found! Please set you Everquest 2 directory in "settings, filepaths" first...dunno what to do


UpDate: I got it to go....updating files n stuff now...so hopefully it will work

To enable the build-in Administrator account, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, and then type cmd in the Start Search box.
2. In the search results list, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as Administrator.
3. When you are prompted by User Account Control, click Continue.
4. At the command prompt, type net user administrator /active:yes, and then press ENTER.
5. Type net user administrator <Password>, and then press ENTER.
Note: Please replace the <Password> tag with your passwords which you want to set to administrator account.
6. Type exit, and then press ENTER.
7. Log off the current user account.
P.S. <> not needed just put a space inbetween net user administrator and the password u want,also there is no space inbetween( net user administrator /active:yes)so type like this (net user administrator/active:yes)

I'm trying to do this and logged in as adminstrator but that check box is unselectable.

The better option is to use the automatically created shortcuts on your desktop and start menu to launch the updater. They will allow you to launch it as administrator. Using the jnlp file to launch it _will_ fail at some point.

For those still having problems...I had to do the following:
1. Update your Java to the latest build...update 7 as of 7/16/08. (java.sun.com)
2. I was getting write permission errors from Vista telling me to start the program with administrator privilages, but since its a java executable, that's not an option. To fix this go to the /program files/java/jre1.6.0_07/bin/ folder and set the properties of javaws.exe to run as administrator. This should fix the write permission problems.

I run Vista on a Dell Laptop, Core 2 Duo. I downloaded the UI auto updater, and then had to tell the updater where my eq2 files were ( I keep EQ2 on a separate WD Passport drive to free up the ridiculously small amount of free space I have on my laptop)

But, other than that, THIS UI ROCKS. I'm SOO impressed. I've never tried a CUSTOM UI before this, but I AM a UI junkie...this really fixed some issues I was having with EQ2's lack of UI imagination.

I wanted to say thank you. The links to Allakhazam, eq2 i, and google on the journal are AMAZING...the Broker UI is FANTASTIC, and I'm excited to see how else I can play with this UI.

Thanks so much! I'm sure to get the most out of my time spent on EQ2 now, and I'm just SUPER impressed.

i also would like to mention i have the lastest java and i have the icon for the updater but once i start it i get the microsoft has encountered an error box.i tried moving the updater file to my profit folder that didnt help.i'm using windows xp too if thats a problem i dunno.any help will be appreciated

everytime i try to load it it crashes am i supposed to have this file somewhere?.i'm not computer savvy so any help would be great.since gu44 my raid/group cure windows are clouded out

omg let me select more then one file at a time to ignore im finaly making the move to this ui and this process is cumbersome. let me click and drag all the files i want to ignore.

If the program is crashing you do not have the latest Java Runtime Environment on your computer. Go to java.sun.com and grab it.

I don't know why the installer doesn't automatically find this problem, most java programs redirect you to nab the latest version beforehand with a routine written in C or something.

I have used Profit UI for a LONG time and made the mistake of checking out another UI (on a friends' recommendation,oops!!!). I have done a complete wipe and re-install of EQ2 from the ground up and STILL cannot get the updater to actually "update" the UI. It connects...tells me if I need an update, but when I change skins in the variants options...NOTHING. Would appreciate any help that can be given or a step-by-step installation walkthrough for DUMBIES. Thanks. Just hope I can the best Da...ng UI out their goin' again. ~Xant~

Edit: I am also getting some of the default UI windows and the background on the top and bottom bars (along with some of the startbutton icons) are all white and the icons missing. /bows his head in mourning for the loss of his UI.
