Default POI Icons

Here is a list of all the POI icons we use.

In the latest Expansion CD Daybreak added 3 new icons.
siteblue
siteorange
lurk (I did change the icon)
But i have no clue what they are supposed to be used for.

If they have no real purpose maybe we could reuse one of them for objects.

Ahh good to know, thx for the pdf.

I wondered if there was anything we could do about the POI icons, because I have 3 main gripes with them:
1 object location and named site use the same symbol. As site is used by daybreak a lot on their sites can't really change that symbol, but maybe we can change the one for location?
If siteblue or siteorange are not used we could reuse those.

They also show both up under the same LOCATION category, which makes finding stuff a bit annoying sometimes.

I‘d also love 2 dedicated POI icons for in-zone doors (using cave atm, but looks odd for a door) and for markable objects?
While there is no door icon maybe we could use the other one of siteblue or siteorange if they are not used for something special.

I did a check and DB don't use any of the new POI types, i have no clue why the added them.

A little problem is that you have used site blue on 17 POI's.
That is my fault, i forgot to disable that one.
Any reason you used that one?

Should we use a blue dot for Object instead?

For a door icon why don't you use icon 52 Door?

Or what type of Door are you thinking of ?

Yeah the zone I used them in is a bit strange, in The Molten Throne: Hate‘s Essences you open up fiery walkways which are displayed on the map as yellow lines and appear to be strings of non targetable POIs, I tried to use blue to contrast with the yellow so you‘d still see the POIS, but the yellow paints over everything not letting you see the POIs anymore, so I can revert them back no problem, they are all object locations so if we do as planned won‘t be yellow anyways.

As for the door. Icon 52 is used as the door of an instance (i.e. you zone into another zone) as opposed to out (icon 44 zone). I was looking for a symbol to denote doors that you unlock within the zone or stay locked in some instances but not others. So like Sigrdrifa had done before, I use cave currently as that is the closest thing we have for that atm.

So if they‘re not used lets use siteblue for location (objects, was id 17) and can we use siteorange for markable objects?

Also what is POI 18 monster for? Epic targets?

I don't know how i searched but now the DB POI's showed up, what type should we convert them to, seems to be some type of teleporter.

POI Icon 18 is the old Monster icon for the old map system, should not be used anymore.

I will start adding the 2 new icons soon.

Yeah when you reloaded the -Daybreak- POIs it reverted the Teleporters in Myrist back to siteblue. Not an issue for us though, like you suggested I have replaced the Daybreak POIs with our own (to avoid overwriting when they are reloaded) and gave them the teleporter icon. So we're free to use siteblue and siteorange.

Just putting this here so I don't forget ... last icon in the new /images/icons/icon_is142.dds would be good for public tradeskill researchers.
