Manual add to eq2maps
Yes the code would go into your core_mapstyles.xml file and the dds images go into the images\maps folder within eq2maps.
Beware that manually changing the core_mapstyles.xml file will cause the eq2maps update to see it as incorrect and replace it any time you run the updater. You can either:
Reset it after each time you run the updater,
Not run the updater or
Lock the file by making it read only until such time as you want it updated.

It was a fun one to do, I ended up borrowing a monk to flop around the zone and get the last details. Gonna have to lvl me one of those, very handy.

i tried to get these to work but the map is just solid black and will not clear.

Did you download and place the .dds files in the correct directory?
Works fine for me. Still waiting to see if the maps go live before or after the expansion though

yes they are in the right directory, they seem to work sometimes, appears to be an error in the z-axis, i can go up or down and a map will show up then at some levels is black.

What is the loc that that is happening at and I'll take a look and see if I can replicate it? I tried to check all altitudes and areas, underwater, stairs, ledges but it's possible I missed a wierd one.
BTW, there are no excluded altitudes in the xml code, although I could probably add a heightmin=-70 to the first line for better clarity of divisions but I have a feeling I tried that and it messed something up. So really there shouldn't be anywhere that you shouldn't get 1 of the 3 maps showing.

found the problem, map_exp04_dun_karnors_castle.dds was corrupt, started looking and everything looked right with the heights and where i was on the map, file size showed 49k so i redownloaded it and is fine now, ty for the help.

Need help with the names. Judging by the heightmix/max the _1 and _2 maps are lower but what should I call them?
