Default Fix didn't take...

I'm getting this same error. Here's the whole story. . .
I was in EQ2 and my maps were fine. I zoned, and I lost all the location / quest / NPC points. So I zoned again but it kept happening everywhere, even Qeynos, Antonica, Bonemire, Enchanted Lands, you name it. So I exited EQ2 and tried to run the Updater. I got this same error: "EQ2MAP Updater has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Immediately, I removed EQ2 Maps, downloaded the latest version, along with the POI Finder, and re-installed. Same error. So I came here and found this thread. I followed the instructions (I had MS .NET Framework 2.0, 3.0 & 3.5 installed.) I removed them all and re-installed them all, with current service packs.

Here's the kicker:
I'm still getting the exact same error.

What I don't understand is how it can be working just fine and then simply stop working. I'm not running any modified UIs: I use the default UI from EQ2. I've been using EQ2 Maps for years with no issues before this.

I'm at a loss.

le sigh

Any new help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Eevin
