Being a dabbling Tradeskiller, I have learned that if you examine the item you are crafting there is a set of 4 boxes at the bottom, if you have made anything they turn from the ? to the item. This goes (for a spell maker) app II, App II, App III, App IV. Adepts and Pristine are made as Adept III, Adept III, Adept III, Adept III and only on the bottom Adept III will you get dust back.
