Currently instructions are available by reading my changelogs (although the 3.0 info is still missing, I know). I linked mother's page in those as well.
Eventually I plan on fleshing out the FAQ by pulling that information together but that's way down the priority list which currently has "real life" taking up all the top spots.
Armus550, if the button to close chat windows does not work try pulling it into another window and remove the tab. Rarely you need to delete your uisettings however to get rid of the window. I often open up temporary separate chat windows and usually have no problems with that. Regarding the indicator for being in melee range - I don't think that is possible but I will have a look. You could set up a parser like ACT to filter that message and give you a sound.
poopy, if you get an error about outdated windows you are not using the latest version. And no idea what you are seeing after renaming that file, but it is surely not ProfitUI (read: don't rename it or any other file, they are named like they are for a reason).
