Fonts and textstyles files it sounds like to me .. but they are in the zip and working fine for me /shrug
try deleting
eq2ui_textstyles.xml
eq2ui_fonts.xml
From the LAFFSV8 folder and log back in you should see the default fonts on nearly all windows then.. Then let me know if you can see npc names and such please.. since i havent modded the file that relates to them just the 2 above..
