Regarding the problem with the arrow keys, i may have an answer. For me too it wasn't working well. But i found how to solve this for me.
In Options/control/View Options/Free look controls then set it back to "view relative" instead of "avatar relative".

edit:and it seems using the video profiles resets it back to avatar view
