Hmm, the favorites for boxes were working correctly yesterday on my server. Are you possibly playing on the Test server? There are some changes on Test to the search options which would cause this.
And for the search by classes, sorry, this is not possible (I would much like the function if it could be done, but there is no way to do this). However, the infocenter ([?] button) includes spell lists for all classes, which helps a bit.
