I have:

YES Sooth fonts
NO small fonts

I have had similar problems in the past and found out I was installing it wrong. Try re-installing it and make sure you extract it to the everquestII directory so it can add in all the additional folders in the correct places..

If that doesnt help I am afraid I can lend no more help(
