I'm not sure why you're having that *particular* problem, but given that the mod hasn't been updated in over a year, I'm not surprised that you ran into trouble of some sort.
Also, you should be aware that the list of emotes in Kosmos' mod is incomplete, as it doesn't include the various "voiced" emotes added to the game back in the fall.
