Landiin,

Thanks for the reply. Will back them up and get the new installer. Will leave all of the old files there and see what happens. The new one your working on sounds great. I love the idea of a map updater that does not need .NET as I am in the middle of getting EQ2 to run on my linux box. Saves me alot of headache. I like the lightwieght mpg player too. If you need help testing that one, let me. Would be more than happy to abuse it to the fullest to see if I can find problems with it

Oh, I have been meaning to post about a small glitch I noticed with the UI. But, it is so small, I kept forgeting. Anyways, sometimes, when I would load the game the lower left chat box would vanish when I was logged in. It was no big deal. Just hit the enter key and it would pop right up. Like I said, just a small glitch. Think that is the only thing I can find in the UI.

Kanorf,
Are you useing /loadui? DONT! It is bugged. Lets do this in order.

DO NOT HAVE EQ2 RUNNNING!!!

Go to your EQ2 root directly. in the states, this would be
(drive letter):\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest II
in there, open eq2.ini in notepad. (I run the game at a 1600x1200 reso. If that plays an impact on the information the eXtreme UI puts into there, Landiin would be able to chime in and say so.)

Copy and paste the below content exactly as it is in notepad (if you have anything in there clear it out. only what is below should be in it for eXtreme UI)

cl_ui_skinname extreme
cl_ui_subdir UI/
letterbox_frame_visible false
cl_letter_box_amount 0.135000
window_allow_offscreen false
only_show_fg_in_letterbox_area false

Now, Click File then Save and close notepad

Still in your EQ2 root folder, move eq2_recent.ini to a different folder to force it to recheck eq2.ini. Start eXtreme UI to make sure it is patched to the latest and get any new maps. Now, tell it to start EQ2. login and when you get into the game, you should see eXtreme. DO NOT use /loadui. extreme should be up and running. If it is not, did you move the eq2_recent.ini file to a different folder to back it up? If it is up, You will have to set your resolution settings again and all of that good jazz.

If eXtreme UI is not up, and you followed this to the letter. Are you in the US or somewhere else? If your elsewhere, can you copy down the directory tree for EQ2 and post it? This would help myself (not to mention Landiin by far). In the US, the path to the UI folder is (drive letter):\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest II\UI

If this is not the path to your UI folder, what is it? and what is the path to your eq2.ini file?
