try going into C:\Program Files\EQ2MAP Updater
and changing the eq2map_config.cfg, you can open it with notepad. you want to find:
<ConfigValues>
<OptionName>AutoUpdate</OptionName>
<OptionValue>True</OptionValue>
</ConfigValues>
and change it to:
<ConfigValues>
<OptionName>AutoUpdate</OptionName>
<OptionValue>False</OptionValue>
</ConfigValues>
