in my opinion this TOTALLY defeats the purpose of such a room ...

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this. It sounds more like something that should be posted on the official forums on the Sony site.
Just an FYI when the Servers are down for what ever reason, or the people in the Chat Rooms on the Sony Launchpad Chat are getting out of control. (Which happens often right after a big patch or extended server downtime), they will lock down the room and make it Moderated. At that point all you can do is send a PM (Private Message) to one of the Moderators. Bear with them on getting a response as they are getting bombarded with PM's.
