Thanks for the update, as usual :)

Does it look like we'll be able to continue using older versions of the following files or should we revert to the defaults until some updates are pushed out:

eq2ui_examine.xml
eq2ui_journals_quest.xml
eq2ui_mainhud_persona.xml
eq2ui_mainhud_shutdown.xml

Any insight would be highly appreciated. Thank you kindly.

I just quickly scrolled over the changes but it seems that you can just keep the old files. You'll only miss a checkbox in your journal to hide completed collections.

Thanks for the quick reply. I was able to get the patch done rather quickly and have looked in game for any issues with those windows. There doesn't seem to be any so I guess it's just a matter of living with the missing features until the updates come out, which is easy to live with.

Just out of curiosity, are the changes that were made to the Examine window, for instance, just localization changes or do such minor changes actually effect something somewhat important? I'm just curious since I see these type of changes a lot and have always wondered what they were about.

Nothing important, no. Except for the checkbox in the journal I saw only localization changes and removal of redundant data (also tooltips/descriptions were slightly reworded/corrected). Localization changes do not affect users of the English client.

Is that what these type of changes are though ( :43a26ad542b92b9f_4: ) localization changes?

I've always wondered what that bit of code was.

Also, I saw that you mentioned in the Test Update thread that a scrollbar was added, did you mean checkbox as you mentioned above or was there really a scrollbar added as well?

Thanks again for the insights.

I meant the checkbox, Dolby's compare lists that one strangely and I misread it the first time I leafed through it.

And yes, the :f: codes are the localization tags. They are basically ID codes for specific words or sentences, and for localized clients these are looked up in a database and the localized version is shown instead (if it exists).

The scrollbar for collection quests was moved slightly. It was put one page deeper than it was before but I don't think there's any visual change.
