This is the error I"ve been getting for the last few weeks. I uninstalled and reinstalled but I'm still getting it. It was working fine, I have some of the new poi's, then this suddenly started happening. I get this error everytime I try to update. Any help would be appreciated, this is driving me nuts :(

how the heck did that happen? Isn't that file created via script with php xml parser?

"'FileName' start tag on line '742' doesn't match the end tag of 'FmleName' in file"

Looks like someone did an oopsey... I'm guessing that should be "FileName" at the end too, and thus the problem.

I'm not a tech type person :) I haven't touched any files or changed anything. I just downloaded from the site. When I try to update, I also get script errors along with this error. Is there something I can do to fix it? I'm wondering if it has something to do with my computer, since every time I click on anything here I get * page cannot be found* and have to refresh or use the back button to get to a page. Just seems odd since I can't think of anything that has changed to cause all of this :(

Only thing I can think of trying is emptying the cache.

Go to the folder c:\program files\eq2map updater\cache and delete the file in it..

This should be the solution :)

1.0.15 takes care of this issue :)

I have no cache in the eq2updater folder. I also tried to download the more recent version, once it was done it told me it couldn't open it. Along with not being able to update my maps, I have a real problem on this site. Sometimes it shows the whole page in html, I have to fiddle with it to get the page to show up right, using the back button and refresh until it finally works.
Everytime I try to update the map, I get a different error message similar to the one I posted. There is always a word misspelled that is causing the error. I'm wondering if it has to do with some setting I have? I know nothing about scripts but that seems to be part of the problem? I don't know, I have a useable map right now, I just can't update the poi's. Maybe I'll just have to live with it :) I appreciate the help that has been offered. Not knowing what is causing all this is driving me crazy, but it would be worse without any maps at all.

It seems the files you download get corrupt somehowe, not only the updater but the site page as well, thats why you have to retry to get it right.

Do you have virus-scanning software or browser-enhancement software running? It sounds from your description like something's scanning the HTML as you download it and altering it before it gets to your browser. A lot of anti-virus and anti-malware software does exactly that to block malicious scripts and such from reaching IE, and of course a lot of browser-enhancing software is questionable at best and may be doing this by mistake (or possibly deliberately if it's malware itself).
