Profit Change, UI change or is my install screwed up?
Heres the issue my girlfriend and I are both having (we both use profit)
The text that pops up that tells you what area you're in, or to give you the "Quest Update: you've killed x of x" type messages is showing in a very plain smaller font ever since Kunark. Before Kunark, it was a thick font, kind of stylish, and easy to see. I've updated Profit with the autoupdater, deleted the files I was supposed to, and everything else seems normal. Is this just a new font choice for Profit, a change in the font from Sony or is something wrong with my install? Does anyone even know what the name of that window is by any chance? |
That "window" is not modded in ProfitUI (and never was), so if anything changed, that was with the Default UI. Can't say I've noticed any difference yet though (but memory is hazy if you're not really playing).

hmm... Maybe I'll just wipe out my whole Profit directory in case I put something else in there from another UI. Don't think I did, but you can never be sure.
Thanks for the quick reply. |
No, EQ2 is using a new font for that text since the expansion. It is not your UI.
|
The file in question would be eq2ui_mainhud_onscreenmessage.xml.
|
That window is called eq2ui_mainhud_onscreenmessage.xml. It was changed in GU 40.

Bleh. Guess I need to figure out how to change it back... If its showing how its supposed to it looks terrible. Its like they replaced an actual designed looking font with a thin arial looking font. Thanks all.
|
I'll have a look, if it's really fugly I'll just add a modded version to ProfitUI.
|
Well to each his/her own, I like the new smaller font. Go Figure
