can't get person bar to stay up
Tried this...
"To set Personabar to open at login While in-game, press Alt+C (this should display Personabar) Now manually drag-and-drop the bar from its current location to another location. Now Drag-and-drop it where you want it to stay. Wait at least 1 minute before camping. You should actually camp to force a save. /exit may prevent the change from being saved. I know it sounds odd, but for technical reasons, EQ2 will not save the window as open unless its manually manipulated." That did not work? ALT+C does not do anything for me? So every time I log I have to hit p got to details and hit the persona bar... not a big deal, but would love it just to stay up.... |
I have moved, camped, and reset the persona bar ad nauseum, and it still will not be up when I log in. The only way I can get it to stay up is if I modify it as mentioned in another thread, which disables ever being able to turn it off.

anyone else have this problem?

Perhaps you guys/gals (whatever the case may be :p) have corrupt uisettings files? Try backing your uisettings file (<SERVER>_<CHARACTER>_eq2_uisettings.ini) up and creating a new one (force the game to create a default one or use a preset one that may be included with Fetish). Then try following the same instructions the original poster posted and see if that works.

If you've replaced the Fetish Clock or Compass with another mod, you've probably lost the extra code on those windows that auto-open the Personabar.
A corupt settings file could also prevent it from saving open. Note: The Personabar can also be opened via the Start Menu. |
I've not replaced the clock or compass, so I guess that leaves the UI settings file, which I am loathe to reset because it took forever to get things exactly right in the first place. I'm just going to stay with the hack, thanks.
It does make sense, however, for the last few times I made new characters and told the game to import settings from my main, they "imported" as the default instead. So there is definitely something wrong there. |
I decided to bite the bullet and delete my UI settings ini files. It did not fix the problem with the persona bar starting hidden on start up no matter what. So I ran UISettingSpy on my new files, found that window, and set "visible" to true. Apparently something is causing the default to be hidden.
