Possible to have chat echo to multiple tabs?
First off, thanks for the excellent work on Profit, sometimes it's just nice to know your work is appreciated by the masses. :nana: Now for my question:
I apologize if this question has come up before, or if it is rather nubish. I have the mod installed correctly, and everything works most excellent. (All the preconfigured chat tabs are present and work as packaged). What I would like to do though is have certain chat channels echo to multiple tabs, but I cannot figure out how to go about it. When I go through the chat options and select which chat channels I would like in a tab, it automatically unselects it from any tab it currently exists in. example: I have say, ooc, tells, etc enabled in a single tab I title 'speak', I like this so I can quickly scan the tab and see everything at a glance. Now lets say that sometime there's alot of spam going on, and I get the bong sound for a tell but it scrolls off the screen too quickly to catch. My solution was to create another tab just for tells that I could refer to that filters all tells, while still allowing them to be seen in my 'speak' tab. If I create a second tab titled 'tells', and select tells from the chat options it adds it to the newly created tab, but it removes it from my 'speak' tab. Is there any way to have channels go to multiple tabs? Any assistance you could provide is greatly appreciated. |
check your eq2.ini in your Everquest II folder, the last entry. :)

It's possible. You need to have:
chat_allowduplicatechannels 1 in your eq2.ini file. Also note that subscriptions to custom channels (ie. those beyond the normal list of alignment, race, class, level etc.) seem to follow the first tab only (ie. if they aren't going into the first tab, when you log in you aren't subscribed to them anymore). I get around this by making my first tab one named "A" that has everything checked. Then my other tabs have only specific types of chat text enabled on them. The "A" tab just serves to keep subscriptions in order, and gives me a spot to go when I'm doing a /report where I've got all text and can line up the top correctly to catch the relevant stuff. |
Excellent! Thanks guys. I was sure I had seen it somewhere, but passed it off on being crazy when I couldn't find a checkbox anywhere.
Thanks again and keep up the great work. |
