Chat windows resizing.
 

Ever since Jan 7th, I've had some problems. I have the Incubus UI. I don't know if that is why, but my chat windows keep resizing when I log in the next morning. Also, I can't seem to stretch the window from the right edge unless I remove the window border and put it back (normal window options in game).

This does not seem to happen to my chat windows on the bottom of my screen, but only to a couple of others on the top that I have. I submitted a bug report with this issue along with 4 others that I have encountered.

Another bug I found is that a window that I have completely invisible until mouseon doesn't go invisible like it should when mouseoff.

I have noticed ever since BIg Patch, that my MAIN Chat window does not show until I type something in one my other chat windows. But then, the main Chat returns to the correct loc and size. BTW, the UI is a hodgepodge of various elements not one style in particualr just mentioning something I noticed.

I'm pulling my hair out... well from the sides. Why on earth is this happening to me? I sincerely need someones help. SOE CSR is a joke. They tell me that to make sure my files are not read only and to do a full file scan at logon. Idiots I tell you. They don't know jack squat. So I turn to you players and UI experts.

I deleted my ini files and started over. Now when I create 5 chat windows and set up positions, sizes, chats, it will all reset to just one chat window the next time I log on. It takes me 15 minutes every fricken day to set everything up again. I need a fix; even if it is some trick thing. Please help. hehe

I even look at the time stamp on the file and it is indeed the time I logged of. It looks to me that I have some bug that just isn't saving the chat info. Because all other windows do save.

Is it the 5th chat window that is reseting? Or just at random its one of them?

This sounds like an extreme case of the bug that many people are having with their chat options not being saved.

One good suggestion I saw was to open the game, configure your chat options, then alt-tab to explorer and go to your server_character_uisettings.ini file and make that file read-only. Apparently this is working for some people, but I tried it, and the game somehow still messed up my chat options.

You may just have to live with this, redjackal. Sucks, I know, but I've been looking around on the SOE forums, and there are hundreds of posts on there with similar issues, and SOE pretty much ignores them. I don't think they know how to fix the bug, or else it is just not very important.

I don't think it's allowed for any EQ to run more than 90% bug free... in the contract somewhere. I'd bet the shoes of my imaginary friend's dead dog.

I've yet to run in 1 bug since the patch.


*edit* UIBuilder doesn't count, it says it's buggy in the readme.

exact same problem for me...and I cant find anything that works . - the read only deleting everything and starting over - anything.
