Which files....
Hail and well met, all,
I prefer the default UI for the main inventory/appearance tab screen... and like a bonehead forgot which those files are so that I can bring them back to my ProfitUI folder. I've tried moving the inventory_inventory and inventory_dressingroom.... or whatever exactly they're called, (at work now and don't have my EQII stuff here), but it's not working. Can anyone please tell me which files I need to copy back over in order to use the default UI for the main inventory and appearance tab? Thanks. Take care. |
Never move anything from the default UI into your ProfitUI folder!
To get the Default UI's inventory window, delete eq2ui_inventory_inventory.xml from your ProfitUI folder. If you are using the updater, don't forget to set that file on ignore then, or it will be redownloaded. |
Thank you GM9... that helped partially.
I now have the default inventory UI but it does not have the appearance tab. I then tried deleting the EQ2_inventory_dressingroom.xml... or whatever exactly it's called thinking that was it. No joy :( So, I now have the original default inventory screen MINUS the appearance tab. Any suggestions? Thank you. Take care. |
You now have the inventory window you would have were you using the Default UI. You can run the eq2 patcher and make it do a full file scan if you think your Default UI window is not like it should be.

Appearance tab won't work in 4.X
Hail and well met, all,
One reason I've been wanting to go back to the default inventory UI is that the ProfitUI one is too small for my tastes. For the life of me I can't get the default inventory UI to work no matter what I do... I simply don't have an appearance tab to switch to despite opening the XML and seeing the word "Appearance" in it... it's like the original inventory prior to GU 38. When GU 38 first came out, (or whichever update had the appearance slots), there was a post, that I of course cannot find, that listed all the files needed to be brought over for the appearance slots to work since the ProfitUI wouldn't be ready yet with appearance slots. I don't remember what they all were, obviously, but it was more than just the inventory_inventory one. So, I figured to heck with it I'll just live with the ProfitUI one despite it being too small. However, the appearance slots won't take items at all :( Items that I put on appearance back when I had my default UI are there and working, however, if I try to equip new items in the appearance slots, (which do "slide out" by the way when I click the appearance tab "button"), they simply do not equip... and yes I can wear them as I was wearing them and replaced them with better gear but still wanted the look they had provided. I drag and drop them onto the appearance slot but they just won't "stick." To test, I'll then drag and drop them on the "truly equipped" slots and they do "stick," but they won't "stick" on the appearance slots for ProfitUI. Please help. Why can't I get the appearance tab in ProfitUI to work? Or barring that... does anyone know all of the files needed to be brought over from the default, (Or deleted from ProfitUI for redownload), to make the default inventory appearance tab show up and work? I simply must look good, Dahling don't'chu know? :D :nana: Thanks. Take care. |
merged your two threads...
If appearance slots don't work, you are either too low level or should /bug. Your other question has been answered already... |

There must be some other file(s) needed as well as the inventory_inventory.xml one... and I can't seem to find what that is. When I open the default inventory_inventory.xml I see the word "appearance" in there but there is no actual appearance tab. Do you know what other file(s) might need to be deleted to force the default ones to download and display properly? As for me being too low... I didn't know there was a minimum level for appearance to work... but my Fury is Lv 68 ... so I'm sure that's not it. I'll /bug it I guess. Thanks. Take care. |
Or maybe it's a case for /petition, not sure if CS can help you with that though. If the appearance slots are disabled, that likely means the game for some reason thinks your character is too low (limit is lvl 10 or 20, can't remember). There are also limitations on what you can put into appearance slots based on what your "real" equipment is but if you can't even see the tab in the default UI that would not appear to be the issue here.
In any case this is not a custom UI issue, we can't help you there, sorry. |
Does the appearance slot work if you load the entire default UI?? (/loadui then select default)? If you are greater than lvl 20, and the appearance tab is not working, then you might have a corrupt file.
I had a recent problem with a corrupt file. The general recommendation was to completely delete the UI folder. Not just the custom UI, but the entire UI folder. Then, launch the patcher and do a full file scan. It will see the UI folder missing, re-create it, then download the default package. Launch the game, then make sure the appearance tab works. If it does, then re-install Profit and eq2map (if you have the eq2map auto updater, simply run that after you install profit). Good Luck! |
