ui.log

I was hoping that someone might be able to point me in the right direction for resolving the issues listed in the ui.log file:

Encountered data outside of container tags
Encountered data outside of container tags
Couldn't load .xml
Encountered data outside of container tags
:: Could not access resource eq2ui_LoginScene_EUMerge.xml
Encountered data outside of container tags
Encountered data outside of container tags
Encountered data outside of container tags

I've looked everywhere for the above file but haven't even found any references to that file (such as an include). I figure that a line just needs to be removed from an xml file but I can't seem to locate which file that would be.

I'm using Fetish as a base with multiple other mods mixed in if that makes any difference.

Any insight would be highly appreciated. Thank you kindly.

Well it's obvious, EQ2 is doing so bad they are planning to merge the EU servers. Consolidation with Vanguard is next. It's over, I tell ya, the end is near...

Um, sorry, got carried away. It's probably a mistake on their end, the easiest is just to do a search of your UI\ folder for all files containing the eq2ui_LoginScene_EUMerge.xml string and you'll find your culprit.

See, that's where I start to get confused because the only reference within the entire EverQuest II directory is for EUMerge (not the xml file though) and it's in the Default eq2ui_loginscene.xml file. Furthermore, I have a custom eq2ui_loginscene.xml file but it doesn't have any references to EUMerge what so ever.

I'm probably just an idiot but I really can't see what I would need to do to correct this. Coping and Pasting the missing section from the Default file doesn't make sense to me since it doesn't actually reference the merge xml file. The fact that there is no such file also eludes me except to point towards there being an unnecessary rouge Include somewhere.

And now for something completely different, every time that I run a Full File Scan the patcher creates 2 new directories within my UI folder (BaconSauce & PersistentInstance). Both of which are empty so I end up deleting them without worries. However, I would really like to know what they are supposed to be used for if anyone just happens to know.

Thanks again.

Ah ok, I remember that now, EUmerge was related to the PvP server consolidation. I don't have a reference to that file either in my UI though, maybe I missed it (or it's new).

Too funny are you for real? Maybe DEVS got their groceryi list mixed up with in the patcher?

Or..

All your Bacon Sauce are belonging to them? :P

No joke. It started the day that GU38 went live and has continued since. Always empty and never seemingly needed for anything as I can delete them without any type of issues ensuing.

BaconSauce...sounds evil, as if Bacon isn't good enough but now we need Sauce with it :)

Hmm. Sounds like some Dev was being a little toooo creative and forgot to delete a directory...
