Virgin installer here :)

Created 'ProfitUI' directory in the EverquestII/UI directory and extracted files into this.

I now have a file structure that looks like this....

EverquestII/UI/ProfitUI/UI/ProfitUI

...and it doesn't work :(

What have I done wrong ?

it should be everquestII/UI/ProfitUI

the extra 2 are what is causing the problem

So just download the file to the EverQuest II directory and extract from there. There's now an Auto Updater but I'm not exactly sure as to whether it can be used for initial installations or not.

Yes, the auto-updater could be used as well. And installations instructions for either manual or auto-updating install are in the FAQ (link in my sig).

EDIT: Strike that, because of an issue I just discovered you run into trouble doing a first install with the auto-updater. It now installs with a certain number of files excluded from download. You do need those, however. Go into configuration and double click all lines marked in red to get them to download.
