problem loading the game this morning
 

I am using Fetish Nightfall UI, this morning after the patch right before it goes to searching for server etc, i am getting this error message and not sure what to do:

D:\test\eq2\game\client\src\NCS2.cpp(1868):
missing required window:NCS2Slideshow

Deleting the file eq2ui_newcharscene2.xml from your UI directory should fix you up with this particular error.

Issue still exists
 

I tried deleting the file you listed Landiin but I am still getting the error. Any other suggestions?

i was also having this issue but deleting that file did work for me... fetish needs to be updated however for intro.
imo there needs to be a UI where all it is, is the exact same UI as the regular one, except the width of track can be changed. OR soe could grow a tiny brain and realize with 10 hotbars and 1 chat window, 1 grp window, 1 buff bar, 1 eq2 button, a clock, a compass and a quest journal... that track window not being able to make the width smaller is just plain stupid.

I had the same problem resulting in a fatal error. Following the suggested instructions was a perfect solution for me.

same here and I tried deleting the file..looks like I have to uninstall Fetish Nightfall which sucks as I really liked it

Before you do that:

1. Verify that you have deleted the eq2ui_newcharscene2.xml file and not the eq2ui_newcharscene.xml or eq2ui_newcharscene1.xml files if they exist. AND that it was removed from the Fetish directory and not the Default directory.

2. Remove any variation of eq2ui_newcharscene... that you might have in your Fetish directory.

3. Try removing eq2ui_loginscene.xml to see if it helps.

Ok heres what I figured out
 

After the Wife first logged in using the option to enter the game as a certain character, she wanted to log to the Character select screen to look at her new armor types (Blackened Iron is ACTUALLY Black!!!!) this error popped up instead....deleted the file mentioned same problem...seems they migh have let a bit of code from the beta for RoK onto the live servers and this is causing the problem...if you select your character from the launch window and do NOT go to the Charracter Select Screen no problems are encountered....

Now onto other issues...

I for one like the neat ideas involved in this update, the Appearance tab is cool for the role play aspect of the game and the neato new icons that change the appearance of the forageable items is cool...BUT I think hey would have been better served to FIX the quests that have been broken since Neriak went Live (basically ANY quest involving snakes there is a chance you will no get the updates reguardless of how many snakes you kill, the types of snakes you Kill, where your killing these snakes etc etc etc)....and if this happens to one character that character will ALWAYS be effected by this bug
but a different character can get the updates...its very random and intermintent but it happens enough times that they should have been able to pin it down by now and fix it, but no instead we get a bunch of useless non game effecting fluff for an update.
