Chat sound notifications
 

I'm trying to find a way to get a sound notification when someone sends me a tell. Something similar to the mail sound notification would be fine.

I frequently forget to watch the chat window when I'm involved in something.
Maybe I need to change UIs. Profit doesn't appear to have that option.

Any suggestions?

Not too sure this is possible.

If it is, the only way I can think to do it would be to use the fact that a tab's name changes color when it has new messages, and then make a "tells" tab and have some sort of checkbox to turn on sound notifications. But I'm not sure we can (and if we can, how we would) access the fact that the window has new text.

I have custom sounds on send and receive in place currently. I forget what post it was I got the idea off of but all you have to do is create a folder called Sounds in the root of your custom UI folder and place wav files with these names.

ui_tell_receive.wav
ui_tell_send.wav

I'm not sure if I understand what you're asking. Do you get the normal pop sound when someone sends you a tell?

If you want to customize any of the UI sounds they are all listed in the UIBuilder manual in chapter 5. Or you can see this post:

The little pop sound gets drowned out with combat or other things so this looks like a good way for me to get something more noticable put in.
