eq2.ini file not being read

Hi, i'm having trouble with eq2maps, i got it to run once, but only once.

i have everything set up correctly directory wise, and the file is named eq2.ini, not eq2.ini.txt (file extensions are not hidden on my cpu). still it did not work. i tried putting the cl_ui commands from eq2.ini to eq2_default.ini and eq2_recent.ini out of desperation, and somehow eq2maps worked last night. but today when i logged onto eq2 for a moment, those added lines were gone from those files and eq2maps no longer worked.

even more bizarre, when i tried putting the lines back in the ini files again, it doesn't work anymore. so i cannot duplicate the success i had last night.

another symptom: i also do not see the folders i added to the UI folder when i type /loadui in the console. I see the default folder, but not the others.

any ideas whats going on?

You can't modify anything in the default files or in the Default UI folder. The Launchpad will overwrite any files that you change.

Are you using any other UI mods other than the map?

The map installer will create the correct files and folders if you aren't using other UI mods already.

i tried to use the automated installer too. it didn't work.

i also have milquetown in a folder in the UI folder. but i never got that to work either.

i figured it out. apparently eq2 doesn't like it when you have more than one new folder in the UI folder. in my UI folder, i had Default, Fonts, myui, and milquetown folders. After I deleted the milquetown folder, it started working for me.

Glad you got it working but having more the one new folder in the ui folder isn't a issue with eq2.

I have 3 UI's and 2 or 3 other folders with tools i use to mode with there and the game works correctly. I don't know what your issue was but having more then one new folder in the UI folder wasn't it.

The Milquetowst files and folder all go inside your custom folder called myui.
