changed harddrives

i had to reinstall my game, and i put the game back on my C drive , previous install was on back up drive D. the map updater keeps downloading content into old D drive adress, and i cant find where to change it. already tried the options, but couldnt change anything there. unless i overlooked somethin. anyone know what i should do?

Under options does it remember the new path you put in if you close eq2map and start it again?

Look in your Program Files directory you will see a EQ2MAP Updater folder. Inside the EQ2MAP Updater folder is a file named eq2map_config.cfg, either attach that file here or open it in notepad and post the contents. Thats where the path options are stored and would like to see if that file is being updated.

Hmmm, guess I have a related question. I have my EQ folder under Games/Sony/Everquest II/ and have EQMap set up and working.

I also have a separate setup on /MiscFiles/Everquest II/ for the test server. I have EQMap set up for this also.

Now for the question: is there a way to set up a separate updater for that second instance of the game? I can update by going into the options screen and re-pointing to the test server exe but then have to remember to change back for the next game day.

It's under options

When the patcher is open go to options and change your game directory to the new one. Should work.

just copy and paste the eq2 updater folder and rename to eq2 updater test
or anything you want then drag shortcut to desktop.

i have 3 seperate folders
eq2map uddater
eq2map updater us
eq2map updater test

each points to relevant exe. and updates seperatly.

hope it helps

Yes sir, you win the Gold Star. This is exactly what I wanted to know. I can already change the options screen but that wasn't/isn't what I wanted. It is possible to make a mistake and update the wrong system; especially since the updater has one pointer to the file system and another pointer to the executable file to open. So it's currently possible to update the test server and then start the main game syste.
