Banned for using custom UI
 

Today i got banned from eq2
I was told it was because i have a third party program the only 2 i have are fetish ui and eq2 maps SOE (TSR jimmy dee ) told me that they are not allowed in the game so for everybody using one watch out

I'm sorry you cant get banned for using a custom UI or EQ2map. Scott Hartsman posted a long time ago on their forums that eq2map is ok to use since all it is a custom interface that uses a program that auto updates it before eq2 runs. If you notice even SOE Dev's post here from time to time. Heck SOE even provides you with the interface editing tool they use for the purpose of creating custom interfaces.

So you either did something else bad or SOE made a mistake.

the reason for your ban will have nothing to do with the 2 things you mentioned above, thats for sure

I would ask to talk to a supervisor because SOE allows custom interfaces. They put in the custom interface system to allow people to modify it. You are the first person out of 200,000+ registered members to claim they were banned from using an interface.

I would say it was because of something along the lines of Evercraft. I've used the 2 mentioned programs for ages and even know that SoE uses some of them.

deathdweamer EQ2MAP has 510,367 downloads alone, so I very seriously doubt you got banned from a legal custom UI. Like Dolby said, SOE even provides an app for making custom UI's, so why would they ban for using a custom UI? There are 3rd party apps that do come with custom UI piece's that break the EULA that will get you banned but NONE are from or hosted at eq2interface.com.

If in dead you did get banned for using a legal UI then you need to take your grievance past TSR jimmy dee.

Think its been said enough already but that's impossible. There's very few people playing eq2 that don't use some form of custom UI. Everyone in my guild uses them and we all have been playing for three years plus. You can only get banned if you are using a third party program such as Evercraft, market sniper, or one of the other macro bots out there. There are even harvesting bots and speed hacks that will get you banned. Key here is not to use them. Don't really know why anyone would want to anyways. The fun of this game is to actually play it. If you got banned because of this then you deserve it cause I think everyone here will agree that botters are the scourge of the earth. If you aren't using one of these in truth then you have recourse and can appeal the decision through SOE and I would definately do so. They don't ban people lightly though. They carefully check and verify the petitions made to them thoroughly before a decision to be banned is made. Not that errors can't be made but if you were using one of these programs I would not assume you can bs your way out of it cause they will have proved your misconduct thoroughly prior to the ban. Just accept your fate and if you get another account do not use these programs again cause they will watch for you.

i dont have any other programs on eq2 as i said only use eq2 maps and fetish ui , the only reason i posted it on here was that the TSR said it is classed as a third party prog,

Then take my advise and have the TSR person go to their supervisor. If what you say is true then the TSR must be very new and needs more training.

I'm going to lock this thread as its turning into just repeating the same thing over and over.
