Chat window mod request

I'm currently using Insomniac's scrollbarless chat window mod (very nice!) but I have a problem maybe someone could suggest a fix.

I play at 1600x1200 because I love the way the game looks at that res...and the standard UI elements appear small enough that they don't block the view so much.

With chat windows, I have to increase the chat font size to 18 or so in the chatwindow settings so I can comfortably still read without squinting. Trouble is, that setting affects only the stream of chat in the window itself...however the chat entry line where you type messages remains at 10 or whatever the default is, and I have a hard time seeing what I'm typing!

Is there a way to modify the fontsize in the text entry part at the bottom of the chatwindow? Or perhaps something in the ingame options that I missed, I will look again in case....(EDIT I just hopped ingame to check, the ingame Options setting for default chat window font size is set to 18 but it has no effect on the text entry line.)

Thanks!

PS...oh another thing...I surfed enough to see all the replies that things like the loc and compass headings that appear in the compass tooltip are currently not available as dynamic data...I'd like to add to the request list, if there is a data about the angle up or down of your ingame "camera."

I have an odd reason, I am working on an ingame study of EQ2 astronomy and all vertical angle measurements I am using crude trig and pixel-counting from screenshots...boy I would love a tooltip that said I my present view was 53.7 degrees above the horizon.
Yes, I'm serious ;) here's a link My Lore/Astronomy project see the Camera and Astronomy sections.

Fixxed...made a new font (copied eq2's chatfont and up'd the size to 18)
Readme file explains a bit.

Just used my own version of Insomniacs scrolless chat window, so you can shift-pageup/pagedown instead of scrolling too. ;)

After doing this I'm going to use it myself..runnning EQ2 at 1600x1200 too :D

thanks, I'll give it a whirl!

EDIT...you gave me a lot of ideas to compare things...what I ended up doing was:

Copying the eq2ui_fonts.xml file to my custom folder and instead of making a new ChatInput2 font, I told it to make the existing ChatInput font size 18.

However, while that did make the chat input font size bigger, it kinda bounced up and down in the text entry line while you typed...

So, I went into Insom's custom eq2ui_mainhud_mainchat.xml and changed this line:

<Textbox Color="#F0F0F0" Cursor="/Cursor.Text" Location="18,147" Name="ChatInput" PackLocation="left,bottom" PackLocationProp="0018/0001,-025/0001" PackSize="absolute" PackSizeProp="0024/0001,xxxx/xxxx" ScrollExtent="362,18" Size="362,18" Style="chat_textbox" />

by changing Location up by 2 pixels to "18,145" and the ScrollExtent and Size to "362,20" to make the text entry line taller a bit...and that fixed the hopping text thing.

The little chat bubble icon for the default chatmode picker sits a bit high on its button, but I can live with that. :)

Basically, this accomplished the goal while changing as little as possible. Your example was a great help!
