I had the same problem and fixed it as it said in the FAQ but i still have one slight problem.
Every time i log in or start up the game I have to right-click the chat window and press "Always Chat Here" in order to be able to type anything.

Anyone know what may have caused that problem? ;)

That may be a corrupt uisettings.ini file. Either delete it and start over or just rearrange your chat windows to make the one it currently defaults to your main window.

same problem

I've yet to thoroughly explore the wonders of this UI, since I've not been able to speak to my friends, or type simple commands ((/invite, /em, etc )) I've tried resetting the windows and frames settings to none, but to no avail. Even as I type this, I am trying to explore this UI, and am frustrated when i can't respond to friends and guildies. To undo this earlier, so that i could raid, I simply deleted the EQ2.ini files, and did a thorough file scan when i logged in. I've really liked what I've seen, and would love if this problem could be solved.

I was wondering if some of the problems might stem from having had problems with my chat window with the game UI, nothing big, just getting weird tabs, and having them be disorganized to the point where I deleted my chat window and somehow got a new one (thinK I might have used commands to bring it back up, or the system-wide messages kept bringing up new windows, and I used oned of those) If there's anything I can do to help fix this, please let me know, as I'd love to use this UI, but until I can talk to others, it's useless to me!

You may want to right click your chat window and select "always chat here".
