xp display and chat window problem with 3.2

i reported these on the portal bug curious if any one else id experiencing thwese two issue using resolution 1024 x 768. if not wether i may have something messed up.

one is the exp display seems to be cut short for example xp supposed to be 15% the 1 shows but half the number 5 is gone.

and the second issue is the area in the chat window where one would type a response is no longer there. i can see the chat but unable to respond as there is no place to input text any longer

reinstalled 3.1 and the chat box works, i tried to find the file for the chatbox, in my profitUI folder, but couldnt. just wondering if anyone knows what needs to be swapped from the old version into the new one to get it to work right.

I am having the same problem with the chat box. if anyone has a fix besides loading 3.1, I would love to hear it. I don't like using "out-of-date" UIs because there is, inevitably, something minor (or major) change that completely destroys my enjoyment of the game. In this case, not being able to accurately track my XP. so I am hoping that someone has a fix for the chat window soon.

lol, kk, short of it from the instalation FAQ, change the "frame & title bar" to none for your chatbox. exp is still not displaying correctly with the bitmap font though

existe 04-25-2007 01:32 PM

I know it says to set the frame to "none" the issue I had was mine was already set to none, so I had to set it to frame and then back to none to get it to work.

The chat window change was to see if people actually read release notes. :p

I'll look into it, but not today (still in the office, and it's nearly 11 pm here, ...). Make sure your server is patched to GU34.

Also give fxdb's window a try, I suppose he didn't mess up if I did. :-)

ok when i get home fromwork myself i'l try the frame thing and fxdb's window to see if it corrects the xp display

I set the "frame and tile" to frame only. Then reopened the options and reset it to "none" and the chat box is fine again.

I've noticed the chat box issue a few weeks ago when I would start a new toon and I would load my uisettings to the new toon. Every time I would have to set the chat box to frames in order to get the input box to work. I think it was around GU31 when I first noticed it. Just sony issue interfering with superior work is all I thought :)

Just changed it to none, from frame only in the window options, chat box works perfectly.

And that is exactly why I decided to switch it around. Now you no longer need to set it manually on new toons - except of course for all existing users and the fact that I didn't have the time to update the default uisettings in time. Oh well, at least people will read my release notes next time. :D
