Maintained Text & Timers

I'm not one to install entire mods, just bits and pieces to reduce what I see on my screen to a minimum. Which is why I love your Maintained Spells Mod.

I have tried others that Have a Target, Timer/Duration, Spellname listed on them but they had over-sized fonts and icons.

When I looked on your screenshot, yours seemed to match what I wanted perfectly.

I downloaded the UI .. and I put the following file into my /CUSTOM ui folder.

eq2ui_mainhud_maintained

The icons, and sizing are perfect.. however.. I'm not seeing the text that I saw on your screenshot.. ie .. target of spell, duration of spell, or spell name?

I copied all of your fonts into my own custom font folder.

If there something else I'm missing from your UI Pack that is causing the text to not be seen?

Thanks In Advance
Davus

You tried the stand alone versions people have made here?
http://www.eq2interface.com/downloads/cat122.html

Anyway, you also need the custom Profit styles in this file:
_ProfitUI_Styles.xml

That has the description for /Profit.Fonts.FontArial14T

Yes, I have tried the other.. and most of them conflic the the tooltips popup and crash my client whenever i highlight over an item for pop-up examine.

thanks for the help. I'll give that added file a try right now

In addition to that file you'll need to add the line
<include>_ProfitUI_Styles.xml</include>
to your eq2ui.xml file in your custom UI folder.

--- Ok thanks.. I tried the 1st method of adding the file and it didnt work...
~~~~~~~
I did not have an eq2ui.xml in my custom ui folder at all... so i made one of my own. after looking at all the other xml files I noticed it had the blow 1st line of text. So then I added the 2nd line of text as recomended and saved the file as eq2ui.xml in the root of the custom folder
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<include>_ProfitUI_Styles.xml</include>
------
Ok.. when i did this.. the client crashed totally.
Ok.. So I moved the matainted, an the profit UI eq2ui.xml files to my custom folder and it works great now.. thanks for all the help !!!
The padding/spacing between the icons in the left.slip.zip file is a tad too much, but im currently happy. being an illusionist... i get a ton of icons up there and I use them for timers often. thanks a lot folks !!
New Question
In the header of the EQ2UI.XML I have this
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<Page AbsorbsInput="false" Cursor="default" CursorSet="default_set" IgnoreTab="false" MinimumSize="800,600" Name="root" PackSize="1,1" PackSizeProp="0002/0003,0002/0003" ScrollExtent="1024,768" SearchFilter.Visible="true" Size="1024,768" TooltipStyle="/TooltipStyles.tooltip_default">
I see 3 dif resolutions.
1) 800 x 600
2) 1024 x 768
3) 1024 x 768
Which are these referring too? What Items? As I am currently running my game at 1680x1050. Can I ... Or should I change any of these resolution numbers.
thanks
Davus
Err, no.
The eq2ui.xml file is the root file of the entire interface. It has include statements for the other branches which kind of grow out to include every interface element. The default size of the eq2 interface is 1024x768 but it can shrink down to 800x600 and grow to what ever size you want. The daughter pieces and windows automatically move around when you resize your monitor resolution. I hope that makes sense.
Short story: leave those alone.
Long stroy: These values define the default scale of the UI. Once you load the game they are used for determining a scaling factor to make everything fit your actual resolution automatically. The "MinimumSize" number is supposed to denote the minimum resolution you can scale it down to, but the engine ignores that value.
EDIT: Bah, Othesus beat me to it. ;)
