Experience Changes Coming Up

Edit: All praise Zonx for pointing this out to me.

I had a chance to take a look at the way you guys put together tenths of a percent for Exp bars, and I'll be honest -- I didn't like it. So I went ahead and changed the following Dynamic Data elements to have NN.N% in the text instead of NN%, so you no longer have to combine it with the last part of the BubblePercent.

Expect to see these release notes in the next GU (or the one after):

* The following Dynamic Data Elements now show 10ths of a percent (so you no longer have to combine it with BubblePercent)

+ Self.ExperienceCurrent
+ Self.TradeskillExperienceCurrent
+ Achievement.ExperienceCurrent
+ Guild.ExperienceFull

Hope this makes life a little easier for you guys, and we no longer end up with 100.5% exp!

~Zolt

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Not only will this make exp bar mods *much* easier to create and edit, but it will finally end the interminable arguments about whether the rounding of the whole numbers was a "fix" or a "bug"! :D

Bumping the thread as a reminder to authors that it looks like this has gone live in GU34.

Thanks Dolby, in some cases you should rather add a post on the front page explaining to users that they should update their UI's (referring to your post here). ;)

If there are any issues you guys can't solve with the EXP display, or you find a bug please post it here. I will keep an eye on this thread for the next few days.

I know achievement xp never showed tenths data before but...
With the latest update it shows the tenths by default but there isn't data for it therefore it's always displayed as .0%

Talyns 04-26-2007 09:59 PM

Cool we have tenths back... but is there any chance you could increase the precision to hundreths :D

Give an inch ask for a mile :p

In the pas the conclusion on that had been that you gain AAXP only in full integers. That's why I did not show the (bubble) tenths before and have now hidden it in my UI.

This is indeed the case. I added it for completeness in case the system ever changes. If it is annoying though, I can revert that one out.

gm9 04-27-2007 02:20 PM

I'd much prefer that you keep it in. It's much easier to hide now than it generally is to get a dev like you to put it back in should we ever need it in the future. :) Thanks for staying around btw.
