Request: T.King Spell Gems
T.King released some beautiful spell gems for EQ1 (my fav were the silver trimmed set), and having no mod or art experience myself, I'm wondering if anyone would be able to port them over to EQ2. Or if T.King somehow weren't still tied up with gaming graphics for Sigil in any way.... Would he be free to do them now?
They're the one biggest thing I miss about the old EQ interface. Is it impossible to do at this point? :( Thanks. |
I think that's a no-go. I haven't seen any custom icons at all in EQ2 so I suspect it's not possible.
Then again I'm wrong a lot ( :o ) so there might be a way -- but I wouldn't hold my breath if I was you. =/ |
I know you can change the icon graphics for buff/effect icons. Actually, come to think of it, I've also seen modded icons on abilities as well. It has to do with files located in \\EverQuest II\ui\uiname\images\icons\[icon_file_name].dds
I've seen [icon_file_name] be icon_map# where # is 1 through 3 (maybe higher?) and various icon_ss# files where # varies up to 12 (again, higher?). I know its not much, but atleast its not impossible... |
If .dds files are like that of the target-ring you can change them till your blue in the face and the game still will not use them.
T.King hasn't not much of anything for EQ2. He did make some graphics for a undead type UI but it hasn't been maintained in some time now. It's sad realy; although I am not a big fan of T.Kings art work, many are and he is well respected in the comunity and a verry good artist. |
