Fresh EQ2/Profit Reborn Install -- 2 Major Problems
 

Firstly, I just re-installed EQ2 today. I download Profit Reborn 3.1.1. and the background images.

I install them exactly how I'm told to. I even delete the server.character.ui.... file that was created after my first sign-on after my initial installation.

Problem 1:

I do not receive the menu that asks which resolution I would like to use.

Problem 2:

At the moment I have NO way of chatting. Hitting my 'enter' key does not allow me to type anything.

Creating a new character doesn't make this work either.

I noticed the same issue yesterday but with an install that has been working fine up until now. I have a feeling SOE did a change and didn't tell anyone.

Yay for SoE bugs...here's a workaround since at default you seem to be unable to type anything into a chat window in profit

Hit O

Click on the Macros tab

Click on a blank on where it says <Click to Edit>

Under Commands type load_uisettings

Hit the Test button at the bottom and your menu will pop up

Either keep the macro or hit cancel to clear it

This happens to me every one in awhile. I find that typing a / will always immediately bring up the chat window from where ever it decided to go. After that I don't usually have any issues.

To fix the problem with not being able to chat, just right click the window, goto Window Options, then change it from none(or whatever it's at, not sure) to Frame & Titlebar(or whatever the other one is...heh, sorry not on a comp with eq2 on it so can't tell you exactly)

The reason this is happening is because the default is automatically set to the Window with no chat bar, if you're reading this gm, might wanna change the defaults to the other one, if you can.
