iMac and EQ2Maps
 

I just got a new imac and have a trial version of the parallels software that allows me to run xp on this computer. I got EQ2 to install fine but can't get the setup.exe (downloaded file) to open so I can install the map. Any one have any suggestions? Thanks

the eq2map updater relies on the .NET framework. i'm not sure if parallels supports that. i would suggest using the manual updater.

You're really using Parallels? From what I've heard it doesn't support any 3D acceleration or DirectX currently.

I have read of players successfully running EQ2 by rebooting into Windows with Bootcamp but you'll want to look into the EQ2 tech forums. I think there was a problem with the Core 2 Duo processor MacBook and Windows XP but iMacs have been fine. Here's the thread:
